Small, Leakproof, Kid Easy Containers

So, my kid's lunch leaked again. Mandarin oranges/juice. The teachers make them put their lunch bags in their backpacks, and fortunately, nothing got ruined, but it was a mess.

I usually pack something hot in her lunch, like chicken with brown rice, taco meat and cheese, veggie pasta with meatballs, and the thermos takes up a lot of room. So I need something small, that will hold maybe half a cup, that is not easily broken, will not leak, and will be easy for my dd to open and close. It seems like the ones that are leakproof and have a screw on lid are too big, and the ones with pop-on lids that are the right size leak.

Any suggestions???

What can I do next?

I love the Lock & Lock. They are clear plastic and have tabs on all 4 sides that lock down. I got a set at Penny's on sale. They are pretty much spill proof, even upside down.

I use tupperware, and rubbermaid. I found some this year that are great. Small, don't leak and fit well in my girls lunch bags. I think they might be called take alongs? They have a green lid and they all snap together. They are rectangular and can be stacked or laid out next to each other. I found them at Target. I have also never had a problem w/the keep or toss variety of containers. They come in so many sizes. What I would like to know is which kind of thermos do you use that actually keeps food warm? I have tried all kinds!

I would try putting food in a zip lock bag and then in the container, when possible. Not the slide close cuz those do leak, but the double zip lock bags.
