Does anyone use them? If so I need some advice on wearing positions. I used a frontpack for a while, but my son is getting to heavy for it.
This summer I've been given a Sling EZee, but I have trouble figuring out positions...
Any advice or internet source would be really appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow, girls! I didn't expect so many responces! Thank you all very much!
I recently figured out 2 positions (the cangaroo hold and something like a hip stradle but he is on my stomach instead of the hip). The baby seems to love them! I am gonna work on the hip carry though too!
Thank you for all the links!
To all the owners of moby wrap, I envy you girls! My friend showed me hers once, and I couldn't figure it out... It looks so comfy though!

I actually sell the Rockin Baby Slings at my baby boutique, Babycakes, in San Diego. They are amazing. Once you get the hang of how to use it- it is a life saver. My son is 27lbs and still rides w/ mom. You can go to their website rockinbabysling.com and see all the different carries based on age and weight. Good luck. It is so much more comfortable than the front or back carriers because of the way it distributes baby's weight!

I loved my slingeEZee! It takes some practice but is well worth the work to get used to using it. I used mine like a hip holder. Just put the baby in it like I was holding her on my hip and used the sling to secure her so I was hands free. You can go the Parenting Concepts website for help with positions. You can call the company for a video too. The owner of Parenting Concepts who make the Sling Ezee is the kindest woman! I actually went to their store front near the Elsinore Outlets and she helped me learn new positions...plus you can buy seconds (slings with slight fabric irregularities) for a good discount! I bought an extra one and my sis in law bought one too!

I wore a sling with my first child till he was almost 2. It was one I made myself with big 2" metal curtain rings. I would cinch it tight and wear him close to my chest when he was just an infant. When he was older, he would squat in it. Then when he was big, it was just a sling for his bottom on my hip. I got the pattern from Mayawrap.com.

I used the Maya wrap and the Nojo baby sling which looks like the Sling EZee.

How old is your son? When my boys were infants I would lay them down in the sling, or have them upright on my chest. At about 3-4 months of age I would make a pouch in front and would sit the baby in the pouch facing out. I would have one hand on them, but they loved looking out. After 6 or 8 months, I would wear them on my hip. I would put the sling on, would pull the sling over a child as I eased them onto my hip, would tuck the sling under their bottom and would pull tight. I can still wear my 3 year old like that. He's 37 pounds!

One trick - fan the sling out over the opposite sholder from your baby in the hip hold. It helps to balance out the weight and prevents your neck from hurting.

Try this site for photos. Good luck!

Try this website for photos. It's a different sling then yours, but the concepts are the same.

I loved my sling and my front pack, but I found that my children got too heavey for the sling a lot sonner then they out grew the front pack, (I caried them long distances at a time) I think it was that all teh wieght was on one shoulder instead of my whole back, unless I used my arms to help boost. I didn't always have arms avaible to help cause I have multiple children.

I use a Mei Tai carrier. I have found this to work the best. It is the most versitle and easy to use once you get the hang of it. They are basicly a square piece of fabric that has 4 straps that tie to your body. The carrier can be tied in many different positons to your comfort and your childs. The carrier can be worn as a front carrier, on the back or hip. My son is 9 months old and 25 pounds and I have no problem carring him in any postion. I think the babies enjoy being carried also. This type of carrier works from newborn through toddler age. I sell these type of carriers to help support my family. Research online and let me know if you are intersed in purchasing one, I sell them for much less than the leading web sites. I think you would be very happy with this type of carrier.

I have a Kangaroo Korner Fleece pouch. I LOVE it. I would recommend them to anyone. I have used it from the day I brought my daughter home and I still do, (she just turned 1). They are great because unlike the Moby Wraps, they don’t need adjusting or tying. They hold the baby close and when they are older and can sit up, they work great for sitting your child on your hip so they can look around. You can also nurse with them, which made meal times with company much easier since my baby wanted to eat at the same time as the rest of us.

They come in all different colors.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I have a Moby Wrap (mobywrap.com) and LOVE it. SO much better than the front packs I had with DD.

Supposedly you can use it until your kids are toddlers...

I never found those things comfortable. I always felt like I was pregnant AGAIN! A friend of mine has a back pack like carrier, she swore by, it seemed to work pretty well and her daughter wasn't small. Give it a try it may help on your back.
