Slightly Knock Kneed 3 Yr Old

When I asked the pediatrician at his 3 year, she said it will likely correct itself. It's not that noticable but I see it and I know he will likely be in a lot of sports. Just wondering if it will affect him in any way or if I should have him checked out.

What can I do next?

My daughter was looking knock kneed as well (my husband is) and when she unfortunately broke her leg awhile back the one thing I asked the orthopedic surgeon is can we correct it now and he said "No" there is nothing we can do right now and most of the time like the person above said kids often will out grow it. He also said that even if they are knock kneed he said not to worry about it because most of the time it isn't a problem. My husband was a great runner and athlete and never had any issues.

Take care~

It's a development stage.
They go from bow legged, to knock kneed, back to bow legged and then finally straighten out sometime around 7 years old (some sooner, some later).
Walking, running (hopping/skipping/jumping,etc) and swimming are all good for muscle/bone development.
If your doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't worry either.

Just want to say I agree with B about exercise helping bones and muscles. I learned in biology that exercise improves bone strength and even changes the shape of them.

My daughter has that and the doctor said if it didn't correct itself by 8 or 9 she would probably need surgery so there aren't problems later on. My mil is knock kneed and has had to have her knees replaced twice already.
