Remove the crib bumpers!!! They've been implicated several times in SIDS, which authorities are now saying is likely suffocation in many cases. Apart from that, I see no issues with how your son is sleeping.
My son is almost 4 months old. Tonight is his first time sleeping in his crib and the ONLY way I was ablt to get him to sleep and stay asleep in his crib was by laying him on his side with his face facing the crib bumbers and a blanket rolled up on the side of his back. I am keepung a close eye on him but wanted to know if it's too soon for him to beable to sleep like that.....?
I plan on turning him onto his back and removing the blanket from the crib when I go to bed.
Thanks :)

I think you have a good plan for tonight. He should be just fine. If you can, buy one of those sleep positioners tomorrow - the wedge with bumpers on the side. I got mine at Babies R us, target did not have. You can Put him on that on his back or side and he will be fine all night. I also recommend a "swaddle me" sleeper - it has velcro and wraps him up snugly. My DD needed this and the positioner to sleep all night.
Good luck!
When my son was 4 months, even if I put him to sleep on his back, in the morning he ended up on his side anyway because he was starting to roll over. I wouldn't be too worried about it. He's gonna really start rolling over soon (my son started not only rolling on his stomach in his sleep at 5 months but also would move from one end of the bed to the other in his sleep) so that will cause even less concern for SIDS and such
I'd take your bumpers off when the baby starts moving even a little bit. I'd say he'd be fine like that until you go to sleep. I always check on mine a ton when I'm awake just b/c I love seeing them sleep. Don't be afraid to let him cry himself to sleep though - it's hard, but it does work.
