Sleeping at Night Without a Diaper...

Occasinally, my daughter gets a slight diaper rash, like now. We do all the things you suggested to treat diaper rashes, and it is improving. The biggest thing that we found that helps, is letting her sleep without a diaper at night.

At night in her crib, I put some plastic liners under an old bedsheet. In the morning, I wash the bedsheet and change the liners. Are there any ready-made liners or similar things available that I can use? I looked at Babies R us and did not see any.

What can I do next?

Ultimate crib sheets are the best! I use them as everyday sheets!

There are large disposable bedliners that you can buy in the incontinence section of the grocery or drug store. Medical supply stores sell washable bedliners. The washable versions are expensive - maybe $50 or $60.

There is something called the Ultimate Crib Sheet - it is a cotton top with some padding in it and a waterproof layer at the bottom. It has snaps to attach it around the edges of the crib. I don't think it's made to a replace a diaper, but I think it's pretty absorbent. It's also easy to change - just unsnap the fasteners and snap on the clean one. The whole thing can be put in the washer. Babies R Us has them - that is where I got mine. I have two - one to wash and one to use. I would also recommend that you snap the snaps before washing rather than letting them hang loose - one of the elastic snaps tore off in the wash when I left them loose once.

How about using those "lap pads" - I can't remember exactly what they're called, but they're about 24" square and sort of a flannel texture, but totally waterproof. We have 6 of them (they come in 3-packs) and used to let our son have diaper-free tummy time on them.
