My son didn't sleep through the night until 9 months old... we finally realized that we weren't putting him to be early enough, then havin to wake him up to go to daycare so his sleep was all screwed up. Once we started putting him to bed earlier, he would sleep through the night and now sleeps 12 hours.
gut response-teething. try infant tylenol two hours before bed. Then infant motrin right before sleep. If he/she sleeps most of the night you can bet that;s what it is.
My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was 18 mo old. She is 3 & still at times wakes up during the night. especially when she has a growth spurt.
She was extremely hard to get down too. Didn't accomplish that until she she was 18 mo, then switched to big girl bed & had to start all over again!!!
Now bedtime is much more smoother.
Sorry, no words of wisdom.
There really is no "normal" to compare yourself to. It's seem pretty common though that at 7 months a baby still wakes up during the night. How are you putting her to bed? is she reliant on you to fall alseep? I think once she/he learns to fall asleep on their own it helps them in the middle of the night. A book called "healthy sleep habits/healthy baby" helped us alot. good luck. it's not easy!!!
Read Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. Changed my life!!!
Lots of 7 month olds don't sleep through the night. It's completely normal and babies will sleep through when they're developmentally ready. By the way, sleeping 5 hours in a row is technically "sleeping through the night." It just sucks when those 5 hours are early on before mom and dad goes to bed!
Well, you might want to put a little more info, here! :o) There could be lots of different reasons for that. It's not uncommon, though. If he/she's not waking up for feedings (sometimes growth spurts can cause them to want night-feedings) but just waking for attention, you might consider reading up on the Ferber sleep method. It was a Godsend for me. Good luck!
My 1 yr old and my 4yr old both did that. I just had to wait till they grew out of it.
how often is he waking up? My daughter did that for awhile and doctor told me it was because she was teething. Is your baby eating solids yet? i ask this because with my daughter she would wake up as if she was hungry.
This is almost always an easy one. Look at what YOU are doing. When the parent changes, the child will change in speedy time! A few pointers....make sure your child falls asleep where they are menat to stay for the night. Let them fall asleep on thier own, and do not reward with feedings when they wake, or attention. It's that simple.....but then again, simple is profound.
