My 2 year old daughter seems to get sleepy as soon as we get in to the car.She has a Graco car seat but when she is sleeping her heads head want stay up . I was wondering if their something out there that some one may have tried to keep their kids head prop up while sleeping in the car.I feel so bad when her head is bopping everywhere. Please let me know about a car seat or pillows etc.

What can I do next?

I found something on www.onestepahead.com that kind of looks like pads for the car seat straps but it is made to keep kids' heads from falling forward or to the side when they sleep in car seats. They work great! Good luck, if you cannot find what I am describing send me a message and I will look on that website and tell you the exact name.

Try one of those U shaped pillows. They worked great for my son. We loved them so much we had a collection.

Gotta get a Britax or one that reclines. I suppose you could get a neck pillow or the little cushies for the straps, but if you want a used Britax, I am looking to get rid of mine. It is definately used, but man, have we had hours of sleeping children in it. It is the tan veleour kind of cover. At the touch of a pull, you can lay them down. You can pick it up anytime if interested, just drop me a mail. J

An inflatable or stuffed travel pillow. You can get them in cute animasl shapes for children.

Seen 'em all over the place. You'll see them in Babies R Us stores, One Step Ahead magazines (and others like that), and probably even in Targets and Walmart baby sections. You could always just roll up a receiving blanket in the meantime. Also, be sure the seat is in the correct position.

I have the same seat and the same problem. I bought a head support at Toys r Us for under $10. It looks like 2 blue bananas with a piece of fabric in between. You don't want anything behind her head that could interfere during a crash. The bananas velcro onto the straps and stay mostly at her shoulders.
I've used this since she went front-facing for all my long trips. Not too stuffy or sweaty. For the 12 hour rides, I just leave them on there and she can stay relaxed.

Try rolling up a small kiddie blanket and placing it to the sides of her head. I always had excess amount of these blankets on hand, no extra cost involved in using them!

I bought some of those "head holder" car seat things from a baby store--the 2 I bought didn't work and were an expensive lesson to just adapt what I already had on hand! LOL!!

"Nap Buddy" at wal-mart. Worked well on our trip to IL.

Hi! How much does your daughter weigh? Check the requirements of her seat, many children are turned forward facing too soon. Her seat will give the maximum weight for rear facing, if she still falls in that range, turn her back around! Many children are injuried everyday or worse from being turned too early. I'm not trying to scare you but this could be an easy fix. Please read this... www.cpsafety.com/articles/StayRearFacing.aspx
I do know about spinal cord injuries and I know that you certainly want your childs spinal cord as strong as possible before you turn them! I kept my child rear facing until 32lbs, she was 3yr, 2months old and safer for it. We have a britax boulavard and it does very well with the forward sleeping now. Best of luck to you guys!

There are lots of head cradle pillows on the market--I just saw some really cute ones at target today in the travel section shaped like animals. As far as the car seat, I have a britax roundabout--it reclines and is great for car naps.

I would make sure the seat isn't too far forward, it may need to be reclined a bit. I went to the fire station to install mine, and they ended up putting those noodles you swim with under the base to recline the seat back a bit. If that can be adjusted, it may be much more comfortable for her.
