Ok! I am nervous that my twins are sleeping WAY too much. My 4 year old never slept this much! They sleep 12 hours every night, you can almost set a clock to them! Then they take a 2 hour monring nap and a 2 hour afternoon nap. That is 16 hours of sleep a day!! I tried to keep them awake today, but they both started getting really fussy and my little girl fell asleep on the floor with a toy in her hand. I walked them upstairs and they slept for 2.5 hours!
How much are you 12 month olds sleeping? Is this too much? Should I be alarmed?

THANKS!!

What can I do next?

If you are worried, talk to your ped about this. I would have loved it when my daughter slept so much at that age!! Keep in mind that every child is different. This doesn't necessarily signal a problem, and their patterns can change at any minute. Talk to the doctor first, get some piece of mind and try not to worry about it until you have to.

I am pretty sure that is about right. Maybe the naps are a little long but I remember my daughter sleeping about 12 hours a night and taking two naps at that time. At about 15 months or so she went to one nap. She is four and can still sleep 12 hours at night. I don't know about you but I can still sleep eight hours and fall asleep on the couch around two o'clock if given the opportunity. Heck if work is boring I have been know to hit my head on the keyboard a time or two. I am half kidding!! I usually wake up before me face hits the keyboard.

My 1 year old sleeps 11.5-12 hours at night. and takes 2 45 min naps a day. My friend's 1 year old sleeps 12-13 hours a night and takes 2 - 2 hour naps a day.
It is amazing how different a schedule for a baby can be, but still be normal! Don't worry about it. Enjoy it while it lasts!

My youngest slept just like that. You could set a clock by him too - still can. He used to sleep 830pm-730am, nap at 10am-12noon, then nap again 2-4pm. Now (at almost 3) he sleeps 830pm-730am (still!) and naps every day around 1230-230.

I think you're doing great! Maybe run it by your ped if you're worried about some sort of medical concern - but some kids just need longer to 'recharge' their batteries in my personal experience.
