Sleep Positioners - Pompano Beach,FL

About two weeks ago, my baby learned how to roll from his back onto his tummy. Only issue, he doesn't know how to roll back on to his back and gets upset.

Well the past week now, he has waken up LOTS during the night (4-5 times a night) because he rolls onto his tummy, doesn't like it and then cries hysterically until we put him back on his back.

I know this is something that happens to all babies until they learn to fully roll back and forth, but for the time being, I want to get a sleep positioner to help him from not moving so much at night. I have some friends who used this when they kids were young. It looks like two round soft log pillows that go around the baby's waist so that his arms are above. They said it worked.

Where can I find a sleep positioner? If you have used one, did it work? What was your experience with it?

What can I do next?

We found these to be extremely dangerous. Our oldest was moving all over the crib, so we tried one. He wedged his head down between the two edges. Completely mortified when we found him that way! Fortunately, he was ok but we tossed the thing out.

I bought mine at a consignment/resale shop for kids. But, my pedi said that once they roll over they should not have one in their crib anymore. I know that walmart/babiesrus type places sell them too. I hope it works for you. I would give a lot more tummy time in the waking hours so that he can learn to roll back.

CAWriterMom is right. Most of these items have been recalled and parents are cautioned against using them. A coworker's sister went to check on her son who had just started rolling over. He had rolled into the wedge. They thought they had lost him. EMTs brought him back and saved his life. Dad cut the wedges or rolls up so no one else could take it to use. The Nap Nanny had been recalled a few years ago due to this same problem. I know there are still some sold but I think they are different then the recall.

We use the Nap Nanny and love it! She's not rolling back to front yet with any consistency.

If you read most of the descriptions and warnings, the suggest discontinuing a sleep positioner once a baby learns to roll because they become a possible breathing hazzard.

We used the Snuggle Nest with my son and I went in one morning and he had turned himself over and wiggled out of it completely. That was the LAST night we used that!

You can get most of the major brands at Babies R Us.

My sister used a rolled up hand towel that we taped into a log. so it would stay rolled up, She placed it on one side of her son and the other side he was up against the side of the bassinet. It was netted sides.

But he was determined. Hr squirmed and grunted into all sorts of positions.

Our daughter was rolling over pretty fast on her own. (she lifted her head when first born and i announced her name!)

. But during the day while she was awake, we would "help" her roll from her tummy to her back.. Just to give her an idea of what it should feel like.

we also did tummy time so she could strengthen her neck even more. We would place her on her tummy and lay down on one side, calling her name.. so she would look at us. Then move to the other side and call her name.. She would lift and turn her head.
