Hi moms,
Does anyone have any recommendations for a pest control service in the western suburbs to get rid of Skunks. We have one living under our front porch. We contacted the willowbrook wildlife center and have tried their suggestions to encourage the skunk to relocate but we have had no luck. Since we have seen it during the day I am worried it may be sick and since we have children who play in the yard I just want to have it trapped and removed to be safe. I am also worried there may be babies under there.

We also had the same problem a few years ago--mama and baby skunks in the window well under the deck. I don't know if you have tried this yet, but we hung an open box of mothballs in the window well...they were gone the next morning. Good luck!
Neighbors of ours had a family of skunks (mom & babies) that somehow found a way into their basement crawlspace. They were advised to put mothballs at their entrance after they were witnessed leaving and to play LOUD rock music when they were inside. Guess they hate loud noises! They were gone within a few days.

We used Smithereen when we had problems with racoons in our crawl space. they are in Niles but travel around the area. Their number is ###-###-####.
