Hi moms,
I am 38, don't drink enough water, or exercise as often as I should, now that you I got that out of the way I can ask for help. My skin is & always has been very dry, I moisturize every day twice a day in winter, but my face around my eyes, nose, & chin always seem to be dry. The area on the sides of my nose all the way down and across my chin are very red and have little tiny bumps filled with clear stuff and is itchy. Does anyone know what this is, how to treat it, or what I can do to make the redness & bumps go away. Tis the season for pictures & I don't want my chin out glowing Rudolph’s nose.
Thank you

Aquaphor is the best...Apply it at night so you dont look funny all day long...after a couple nights all the red will be gone...It works great...My daughter has ezema and that is what they recommened....It is not to pricey and you can get it anywhere...it is usually in the dermatalogy area....

Hi D.,
I don't know what the bumps are but for the dry skin I use Clinique face lotion. It is kind of expensive but it works wonders. You could there and do kind of a make-over and see what they say about your dry skin. Otherwise maybe see a dermatologist. They could maybe recommend something plus identify the bumps. I don't know if I helped at all but good luck.

I don't know what it is-- but try aquafor (sp?). I used it for my son for dry skin on his face and butt! I use it when my skin gets really dry, esp. when I have a cold. It seems to fix everyone. It lasts forever too!

Hey D.,

What you could try is anti-bacterial cream/gel. The kind you put on a cut, burn, etc, when the skin is inflamed. You can put it under your nose, everywhere, it really helps the skin heal.

I have the same problem, if I put even the best lotion on it, such as vitiman e, it burns like heck. The anti-bacterial gel helps the dryness, itching, etc. And it doesn't burn!

Buy a store brand, such as Walmarts "equate", it's the same stuff as the name brand (ingredient wise).

And while you are at it, take a multi-vitiman (store brand, just as good)if you aren't already. And yes, try to drink more water! =)

Hope this helps, I have skin issues too =)!

My B/F gets this type of thing too and he swears by tanning, seems to be the only thing that makes in go away-for whatever reason. Try it, if nothing else it will give you an excuse to get a few minutes of peace:)

I always exfoliate in the winter. I thought at one time that I had dry skin but really just had to remove the dead skin. I don't know if it will help the bumps but it will get ride of the flakes. I use a cheap exfoliator from wal-mart thats medicated for acne. Its the best for me.

Don't quote me on this, but it may be acne roseacea (not sure if I spelled that right), have you seen a dermatologist? If that is the problem they can prescribe cream that should clear up the redness and bumps. I also have very dry skin in the winter and am always using moisturizer, I suggest using Clinque face lotion. It's kind of pricey, but it really helps with the dryness.

I have ezema and i have used every cream, pill out there. The only thing that worked was useing decaf tea bags!!! I had it on my hands and legs, i got the water in a bowl got it as hot has i could handle it and put my hands in for 1 hour for 7 days and it was gone, i havent had it for 2 years now. I dont know how this works but it works wonders on alot of skin problems. give it a try.

this sounds like rosacea or some kind of contact dermatitis- (rash), but more likely rosacea. there is a lot to do for this naturopathically, but if you see a dermatologist, they can test you for it and give you a more prescription type cream (though i know people who treat it holistically without prescriptions and have had a lot of luck). this type of thing is also stress or hormone related sometimes. hope that helps! if you want to know any titles of holistic skin and healthcare books, let me know! cheers!

It sounds like a reaction to the cream you might be using or you have some kind of a skin condition that should be looked at by a doctor so he can get you on the right medication or cream for your face. Or look up on internet skin problems and see what they might suggest for you to not be rudolph. Hang in there.
