Ok so I have this rash or not even a rash because it doesn't itch but it's just weird looking it's on my legs, upper theighs, upper calfs and inside my knees. Its little bumps reddish or no color at all with little white circles around them that makes my skin look patchy like. Not sure what it is, I didn't have this last time. I've thought about if I've used different soap, or the heat I just don't know and it doesn't seem like something I want to call my midwife on because I see her on monday anyway. Anyone have this or heard of some one with it? Any thoughts would be great!

What can I do next?

T.,

You have PUPPPS - Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy

Has some non medicinal ways to help with the itching.

This last one provides a homeopathic remedy which I have heard has given good results for many with PUPPPS.

Great advice here, and they recommend Nettles tea

I got them during my first pregnancy but not my other two. They do itch like crazy, don't they?

Good luck!! Maybe your midwife will have a good suggestion for you.

I don't know what it is, but I'd recommend calling your midwife. She may be able to tell over the phone if it's nothing, or she may want to see you, just in case. It's always better safe than sorry when you're preggo.

Hi T.,
I got the same thing right around this time when I was due with my second child in July of 2003. I started out the same way but then it became itchy and uncomfortable. I went to a dermatologist and found out it was called PUPPS that is short for something ( you can look it up on internet). It is a pregnancy rash that you get when the baby's hormones do not mesh with your hormones. It can only be cured with the child's birth. The rash disappeared within hours of my baby being born and the itchiness went away immediately. My doctor said I was to close to birth to take steroids for the rash, but let me use it the last week before I was induced because i was so uncomfortable. Couldn't sleep at night. I hope for your sake this is not what it is or that you don't get itchy. Good luck!

I got the same thing when I was pregnant and my doctor told me that it was related to the heat and the pregnancy. The only consel that he gave me was to avoid being in the sun and the heat as much as possible or it would come back

I get this "rash" also We are lucky it doesn't itch! I get the rash whether pregnant or not. It started before I even thought about having kids. I am allergic to the sun and when I get in the sun I get the rash on my forearms, back of my legs and behind my knees. I have heard it people say its a heat rash and that would make sense also. When I am outside when the weather gets warmer, I get it. Sometimes it goes away as the summer progresses, and sometimes its there all summer. I do nothing for it. I am careful when I shave because of the bumps. I simply have super sensitive skin. It changed when I turned 30 before that I had skin of steel. Now its super sensitive and I have have to be really careful!!! Since you are approaching 30 maybe its happening to you also. If so, welcome to the club! For me, its no big deal and just a nuisance.

You should try Arbonne's sea salt scrub, and the anti-aging serum and body lotion. They are amazing, and all of the products are pure, safe and beneficial. I've been using the products for a year now, and I will never go back to anything else. I have very sensitive skin, and Arbonne is great for that.

Check out the products and company at www.arbonne.com.

If you have any questions, let me know...I'd be happy to answer any for you. ____@____.com

Good luck.

It sounds like keratosis pilaris. It generally appears on thighs and the backs of arms. It's when your skin doesn't turn over or exfoliate cells properly.

My dermatologist gave me hydrocortisone, and that sort of worked. Then I read about using vaseline as a moisturizer and exfoliating beforehand. But the thing that has worked the best for me is a serum that has alpha hydroxy followed by a good moisturizer. I use the Arbonne body serum/moisturizer.

If that's what you have, the good news is that it goes away, usually in the early 30's on its own. Just another weird skin thing to deal with. . .

Hope that helps!
