Hi, my daughter didnt like tummy-time either. I purchased a toy the the baby can lie on her tummy but still can see toy around her even when looking down. I have seen different ones out there now. One they have at Target, it looks like a surf board. I also used toys with mirrors on them so that when she was on her tummy she could look at something, whether it was her own face or a toy that was hung from the ceiling that she could see in a reflection. There are some other toys I found useful for crawling, the ones that roll with sounds and lights when they are touched.

Don't worry. My daughter didn't meet any of the benchmarks and she's four now and unstoppable. My advice is to put away the books and enjoy your infant. :)

Hi J.,
Dont worry. My son, now seven years old, didnt roll over until he was like 8 or 9 months old. He is just an extremely observant and smart child. And my daughter, now two months hates tummy time too. But she is just, if not more observant. They're just focused on other stuff...dont worry it'll happen when you least expect it to :D

A lot of babies don't like tummy time!! I did a lot of my boys tummy time on MY tummy!! They LOVED it! It was an amazing time for bonding and lots of smiles. An occational drip of drool is part of the arrangement as well :)

My son hated tummy time all the way up to 11 months when he finally could crawl - he was walking one month later. Before that we would give him tummy time every day and try to distract him meanwhile - laugh, shake a rattle.... We would even let him cry a bit sometimes to try to persuade him to get better neck and arm strength (especially if he rolled over onto his tummy himself). I'm not sure what is the best method, but I'm pretty sure that your daughter will eventually get over this phase when she is ready. Be persistent and positive is my advice. Hang in there!

She may hate it because it is difficult, those muscles may be a little weaker, like in the neck. Anyway, whatever the reasion, tummy time is SUPER important. Like the previous mom said, find toys that will interest her from that perspective. Get on you tummy and play/read/etc. with her from that position. Before you know it, she'll be rolling over to get back on her back and/or also enjoying tummy time.
