We've had this problem. Our exterminator says they like moisture and fiber. He puts these little foam tab things under our sinks, dryers and shelves which is basically like paper but the silverfish eat them and then die aka they won't breed.
He has also said to get rid of any woven baskets of any kind, and to not keep anything kind of paper like stacks of magazines or newspapers on the floor. Keep your toilet paper and paper towels in a tub. We did this years ago and it has alleviated our problem. I do see one every once in a while - as in, 3-4 times a year. But getting rid of all our baskets helped.
