Silver Linings Playbook--teenage Boy

I asked about this movie once before, but in a different context. Would a 16 1/2 year old boy like it? Is there too much sex and nudity so that he would feel uncomfortable? Just wondering if we should offer to have him join us (his parents) or leave him home alone with sports on TV and popcorn. He is not a big movie goer and usually likes movies with a sports theme, such as Miracle and Trouble with the Curve. He thought Lincoln was "o.k." His all time favorite movie is the Blindside. He has seen a few R-rated movies, but not a lot. I generally prefer him to stick to PG-13 unless I am familiar with the content. I wasn't going to offer to take him, but then I saw online there was a little sports theme to this movie. Or is that inaccurate?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sounds like it's not for teenage boys. I appreciate the info. He just got a better offer anyhow--a high school boys hockey game. That's more his style.

There is a little sports to it in that Bradley Cooper's dad is obsessed with football. However, that's a minor part to the story.

It's a lot more to do with relationships and mental illness. Loved the movie, but I don't think a teenage boy would like it (unless, perhaps, he likes Jennifer Lawrence).

My vote would be to leave him at home. :)

I loved the movie...but not sure a teenage boy would care for it.

The sports theme doesn't play a big enough role in it to keep him entertained, IMO.
