Okay, Moms, it is my turn to ask for help. Silly puddy ended up in the wash and on my 50/50 cotton/polyester knit pants, which I did not discover until after they were dry Thank goodness, I DO NOT DRY my clothes, but hang them up to air dry! Now, how do I get it off/out?
OMG--GERM X?!?! Believe it or not, it did take out the silly puddy!! I had already started the pants in the freezer (FYI: silly puddy does not freeze like gum) and would take them out and scrape off what would come offs, and put it back in. I have my Goo Gone at school cleaning my students' chairs and keep forgetting to bring it home. Then I received the hand sanitizer suggestion and I knew I had some in the car. It is out and I am wearing my pants right now, as I head back to school to finish getting my room ready. It takes a good week, before the week of Staff Development, to unpack everything that we have to pack up at the end of school. I almost forgot, thank you so much for your help:)
Have you tried "Goo Gone" or "OOPS!"? You might also try freezing the items and using a blowdryer on the backside to release the silly puddy.
I have heard peanut butter works wonders.
I know Pine Sol removes gum from hair and cloth. I had someone tell me this when my oldest daughter had gotten gum in her hair and on her carseat. It really did work.
This happened to me and i googled it...you'll never guess what works but it works amazingly! Get a bottle of hand gel sanitizer and squirt it onto the silly putty and just rub it in. It dissolves the putty instantly and completely. It is really like magic.
I don't know if this will definitely work but it's worth a try. I got dark red candle wax out of my mom's carpet this way (it was like new!). Use clean, WHITE, paper towels and an iron on low heat. Lay the paper towel over one spot of silly puddy and run the iron over the towel until the puddy transfers from the pants to the towel. Then, use a clean spot on the towel (or a new towel) and continue until it's done. Hopefully that will work!
Put them in the freezer and wait for the silly putty to freeze. It should become brittle and peel off. If it leaves a stain try spray n wash and scrub it. Godd Luck!!

Which ever method you choose to remove the silly putty itself, I would recommend, spraying the stain with OXY CLEAN, its much better than spray & wash, and shout.( i was a shout user until i spent a week with a friend & she uses oxy clean & I tried it on some stains...ITS GREAT!!!) Needless to say, I switched to Oxy Clean! I have 3 small children & am forever getting stains out of something, carpet, car upholstery, clothing.
I read up on the internet that germx will dissolve the silly putty, and on another site, the manufacture recommends using wd-40 to remove it.I do know WD-40 removes old dried glue residue from where duct tape has been & works great on removing (dissolving)alot of sticky gooey items You also might could use a product called "dissolve it" to break down the silly putty & remove it that way.
Oxy clean, cleans up alot of things for me & it might get the silly putty itself off too.

It may not help, but my daughter left a pack of gum in a pocket that went through both the washer and dryer. I use Clorox wipes to get it out of the machines and it worked great. It also removed most from the pants pocket, but they were jeans and I wasn't worried about the fabric so much.
This actually happened to me. My daughter got it on one of her tight knit sweaters. I tried to pick out what I could and I put the gel shout on it. That is the shout with the little brush on the top of the bottle. I just kept shouting and washing, and shouting and washing until it eventually all came out. I also never dried it. Good luck.
Try putting them in a paper bag in the freezer. The bag will protect the pants from clinging to anything else in your freezer and the cold might harden the putty so that it chips off and out of the material. Good luck!
HELLO MOM, I AM NOT WRITING YOU WITH ANY OPTIONS, I'M SORRY TO SAY. BUT IF YOU DO FIND OUT ANYTHING I'M HOPING YOU WILL LET ME KNOW. MY GRAND DAUGHTER DROPPED SOME SILLY PUDDY ON MY CARPET, & IS STILL THERE. SHE IS NOW 18.CARPET NOT QUIET AS OLD AS HER BUT IS REALLY GOOD STILL.
