What is the normal window of time allowed to pick up a sick child from an in home daycare.
I'd have to suggest that you pretty much finish up whatever you are doing and then go as soon as possible.
About an hour, assuming it's normal sick and not an emergency.
Pretty much however long it takes to get from your place of employment to get there. You are expected to leave work immediately to get the child, and not leave him/her there to infect other children - and your caregivers have a group of children and are not prepared to devote the time to a sick, needy child. You're not expected, for instance, to work another 2 hours to finish up a project or even stay another half hour in a meeting, you're expected to leave immediately and pick up your child - it will be the same when your kid starts school and the nurse calls.
I think it would vary greatly in different situations. At a home daycare, I would expect there to be enough of a "personal touch" that they would know where you worked. Let's say they know that your job is 30 minutes away, I would think that 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes would be an acceptable time window for pick up from the time they called you. They can't expect you to run out the door immediately, you may have to wrap things up, in a case that was not a huge emergency.
Depends on what your contract says. Some say within 30-45 minutes. Sometimes a bit longer if they know it will take the parent that long due to location.
I would think it depends on the person running it. I've never been in a situation where I had to be told I had to be within an allotted time. If my home daycare person called to tell me my child was sick..I was out the door rushing to get them and take them home. So I would say your window is the time it takes for you to leave where you are and get there...but no longer than an hour. The home daycare has more than one child and the longer the other children are exposed to a sick child, the better chance of it spreading to them.
I would think it depends on how far away you work or if you have emergency contacts close by that they can contact.
