Sorry your sweet baby is sick.
Keep him hydrated & give lots of love. Way too may antibiotics are given out today & our bodies are growing resistant.
PLEASE do NOT use Vicks which is petroleum based. Our Naturopathic Dr has asked us to not use anything with petroleum or mineral oil. It is derived from gasoline & smothers the skin so it cannot breathe, like plastic wrap. Imagine whats it doing to our lungs when we use it (Vicks) in a humidifier!!
I became so passionate about learning about these harmful ingredients, that I became a rep for a safe everyday use company. They have a safe form of a vapor rub if you are interested. I'm happy to share my discount.

Sorry babe is sick. I have heard some negative press about Vicks. Please research before using.
I can't remember specifics...but, as most of us have seen even in mainstream news, a lot of new research is pointing to the dangers of using cold rememdies on kids...yes, even the old standby ones our parents used.
If illness is a virus, there is not much to do but comfort as much as possible. (unless you check out some alternative medicine) Just watch out for bacterial infections on top of a virus. I made the mistake of using a humidifier when I had undiagnosed pneumonia...bad idea.
Good luck.

Put a humidifier in his room if you don't have one and if you can, get one that has the little slot for the Vicks pads. If you have one and it doesn’t have that option, you can buy ones that plug in the wall. Gets some Baby Vicks and put it on his chest and put it thick on his feet with socks. That will help coughing and it's soothing. Sounds weird but I swear by it. If he's congested, get a pool noodle, cut it to fit under your crib mattress and prop up one end of his crib so that his head is a little elevated when he sleeps. Make sure he drinks plenty of fluids (even some water).

Hello,
Sorry your little one is sick. I would check the childs temperature and check with the Dr. Baby Tylenol helps along with warm baths. I used to bring my rocking chair to the tv and watch good movies while rocking the little ones to sleep. Hang in there.

Hi H.,
Just got my 24 m.o. over a cold, and he was the same, slept poorly (for him), and didn't eat for 2 whole days. He had a classic case of croup, to boot! (omg).

We did baby Tylenol every 4 hours (unless he was sleeping peacefully), and gave him whatever he wanted to drink, as much as he would take. The first 24 hours were the worst!

Good luck!

Popsicles work really well for kids who are sick - also will help if he is teething. God bless.

Make sure he is getting something - will he drink pedialyte? Babies need their nutrition. Ask the doctor.

Yes. If you've ruled out teething (ibuprofen helps, too) and gas, call the pediatrician. There are so many other things like ear problems, sore tummies from intolerance, headaches (rare), etc., where a Dr. should check out. At this age, it's very possible the teeth are coming in. If molars (I can't remember when they come in) they are downright achy. Ibuprofen, which works for 6-8 hrs. and is for inflammation, like teeth give) and helped my kids during that tough time.
