Shout Out to Riley!! (Question About Abs and Core Muscles)

Hey, awhile back, ok maybe a couple years ago, you answered a post by someone looking to tone up core muscles. You described in great detail a twisting sort of exersize you did with a broom stick.

So to benefit those of us who weren't, ahem, paying attention, could you go over this again, please?! I can't be the only one whose midsection needs a little attention!

So What Happened?

So cool, thanks! Now we have something to do with our broomsticks besides going out for a ride during the full moon!!

Well, the dog thinks I'm crazy, but even though I could only manage 3 separate 10 min session, I felt it EVERYWHERE. It DOES make me a little dizzy too, tehehehe. I like it, kind of low commitment, yet high impact, you know?

Hi theresa!

As I have shared here...I am 're claiming' my body...

BUT my trainer indicated that thru 'regular' lifting...the contraptions would 're claim my abs....

I have been for two weeks now (cardio and lifting...alternate days...)

BUT...if there IS something to re claim my waistline...PLEASE RILEY!!

I need some carrot!!

I remember going to a personal trainer years ago after my 3rd and he had me do the same exersize, it does work starting today as well. Let's check in at the end of February to compare results.

I just read what Riley wrote. Wow! For real?! This sounds crazy. I will have to give it a try. Riley, if you read this, do you know anything about diastasis recti and if this exercise helps those of us with this problem?

A couple of questions.
I did it for 5 minutes and my hands were falling asleep. Is there a way to do it so my hands don't fall asleep or do I just need to keep taking breaks?
Do you twist your whole body or keep your hips straight and just twist your upper body?
I really hope this works. My son is 2 months old and I've already lost the pregnancy weight, but I can't fit into my work clothes.

Omg, thank you so much! I had my 3rd baby, first c section, 16 mos ago. I workout very hard and eat good most of the time, but even though my weight is at pre pregnancy, my waistline is not. I will be starting this tomorrow night instead of folding clothes as I watch Biggest Loser, lol!

So I tried it tonight (Jan 31) and I did it for one hour but I also found that my hands and forearms were falling asleep. I didn't stop but I did hold on to the broomstick rather than let my arms hang over it. Don't know if that changes the results but I can say that I def felt it! Thanks again for posting this!
