Hi friends,
Does anyone have any experience with CHIROPRACTIC fixing their child's ear infections/and or fluid in the eustachian tube and/or mild hearing loss?
My 3.5 yr. old already had one tubal surgery and now ENT says to have another because of hearing loss, NOT infections. Help?
Thx.

What can I do next?

Not sure if this will help but I did a few things with my son to keep from having ear infections. He had them often but I was usually able to catch them early. One thing his doctor recommended was to tilt their bed slightly. He had me put a pillow under his mattress on the side his head goes on when he sleeps. It helps with the drainage when allergies or other start acting up/flaring up. This helped alot.
I've also done ear candleing on my son. I started when he was 5 bc I couldn't ever get him to blow his nose. You can buy them at Central Market in the Healthy Living Dept or usually there are people who have them and will do it. For them to do it is usually about $25 or $30. This pulls any pollen and bacteria out of the sinus cavities and can prevent an infection. My son likes it because after each ear is done the lady lets him look to see what came out. This usually takes about 20 minutes for a child. It's safe and it doesn't hurt. If you'd like to try this let me know and I'll give you the ladies info that we go to. Both my son and I had bad allergies and would get sick a lot and now we don't. I swear by this method and recommend it for anyone.

I don't know the answer, but I know a chiropractor who is terrific and will tell you the truth. He is always studying reseaching, believes in getting the whole body healthy, is a parent of several children... and a really nice guy. It is Christopher Baker in San Marcos. If you need number send me an email @ ____@____.com. I know he could answer your question. He has also taken physical therapy training.

My ear issues were cured by a chiropractor as a child. My pediatrician actually referred me to him prior to placing tubes in my ears. I'm 39 and have not had an ear infection, or an ache for that matter, since I was 7.

In the Round Rock area, Dr. Paul McCartney of Rock Chiropractic is the best. Do not just "try" a chiropractor; try to get many referrals.

Good luck!

I would also look into acupuncture... I have heard that to help. It may be hard to get a 3.5 year old to sit still enough, but their may be a pediatric acupuncturist that has a trick.

My chiropractor is great and I've heard that it can help with ear infections. His name is Ron Barnett and his business is Inner Sun Chiropractic on W. 6th Street. He works with kids (and pregnant women). I think it's worth a shot and I know Ron believes that it really can help. He's very gentle with kids and a very good chiropractor.
