My daughter is 7 years old. We've been very very proactive with our vaccines. She was also a preemie so got addnt'l vaccines for RSV that normal babies don't get and we've NEVER had any sort of bad reactions or any problems. No fevers, nothing. She's always winced or cried a bit when they administered them but only for a second or two.

The worse set of immunizations was when she started kindergarten and she knew what was coming, and she knew they were gonna hurt. She flipped out and and was hysterical so we had to have 3 nurses hold her down. After 5min. we were all back to normal and fine again. She had another round of immunizations in 1st grade as the medical field has now decided to add some new optional immunizations and we opted to get those as well and it went alot better, she was brave and didn't cry at all.

Hi C.-

My son, Cooper, just had his 4 months shots a couple of months ago (we're about to go in for more at his 6 month check-up). He didn't develop a fever with these shots, but part of this round of immunizations is the tetanus shot, and those HURT. I remember getting one at the OB's office during my 6 week follow up, and my arm hurt for a good week afterwards. We gave Cooper infant tylenol for a day or two (just at night before "bedtime") after the shots to deal with the discomfort.

Good luck!

both my kids have had fevers after all of their shots - usually lasted no more than 24 hours. and Tylenol was the only thing we could give them and it helped but didn't take it away 100%. We usually give them a does of Tylenol just before we go to the doctor and that seems to help.

I generally gave my kids Tylenol 30 minutes before getting the shots, which seemed to help with the discomfort. If you forget some, mention it to the nurse or doctor. Mine would give me a small bottle to use and keep.
