**Shots??**

Congratulations on your little bundle of joy! None of my kids developed any kind of major reaction after shots except maybe a day of tiredness, irritability or slight fever. For peace of mind, let your doctor know this. Good luck!

When ever you have a question or concern regarding your son you should call the ped office remember that is what they are there for and being a 1st time mommy (congrats )they would rather you call and question things then not call at all . Im a mother of 3 most recent Nov 07 she is 6mnths old and had a reaction to her 4mnth dtp shot , crying, restless and very irrtable ( Gabbi has been sleeping the night since 6 weeks ) So I panic and call them in the middle of the night , they told me to give her tylenol and a cold compress it seemed to work but she slept on my chest . She just had her 6mnth shot and had a slight reaction on her left thigh , I asked them to chart the reaction for future shots . Im beleive the child needs the vacination at the schedule time , however there is so much talk about the toxins in the shot , Just talk to your ped and get the reasurrance you need .

Call your peditrician. At 4 years old my daughter started having allergic reactions to a perservative in the vaccines. They need to know about this.

Well your son has a fantastic birthday as he and I share the date! >: ) I was alarmed when I read this. I know reactions are typical to some degree but a week of screaming reminds me of something. Now granted, I'm almost 30 so things were a lot different back when I was a baby. I had a lot of problems in my childhood because I never fully received my vacinations, hardly any at all. Back then, schools were not liberal enough to let it be the parent's decision if their child should receive all shots, it was mandatory that all children get all of them without exception. They thought it was unheard of that I was allergic to vacinations. Apparently when I got my first round of shots, I screamed for a week straight and had a couple of little red bumps that came up (where, I don't know). My mother told the Dr the next time she took me in and he basically laughed it off and said it was nothing, I was just irritable and reacting normally from it, etc. Needless to say she went forth with the second round of shots and the outcome was terrible. I guess I screamed for 2 weeks straight, wouldn't eat, wouldn't sleep and now the rash was from head to toe. They took me to the hospital 2 times in which they told them nothing was wrong with me, give me Tylenol and let me cry it off. I wound up in the emergency room a 3rd time because I went into shock. My heart slowed way down and I was limp like a noodle. This time, of course, the hospital was frantic trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Evidently, I was allergic to something in the vacination that to this day don't know what it was. For fear of it happening again, they gave me nothing more and I've gotten nothing since. Not even a tetanus shot as this was one of the possible culprits.

Now please don't panic from what I'm telling you but I do think you should take great precausion and definitely speak with his Dr about this. I'm a very unique case but I know I can't be the only person this has happened to. Each person is very different and just because 1 Dr hasn't dealt with it or heard of it happening doesn't mean it can't happen, even nowadays.

It could be a reaction or more likely colic. Call the DR. If its colic, get the book Happiest Baby on the block. Everyone I know that used it swears by it in a week.
