Shortness of Breath and Chest Pain

So Friday I was sitting with my three year old on our bed...he was on my lap facing me and I was rocking up and down in a sit up motion with him.

That afternoon I started having horrible panic attacks and spells where it felt like I could not catch my breath and I would have to take a deep breath in to feel like I was getting enough oxygen.

Since then it has steadily gotten worse. Where I feel like I have to gasp a bit more through out the day.

Today has been the worst by far and now I am thinking it could be something more then the pulled muscles I was explaining it away too...from doing the sit ups with him on me.

Thoughts? Could this be something more serious that I should go get checked out....Or can pulled chest muscles cause this sort of thing?

I am having acute sharp pains in my shoulders and arms with some of the deep breathing as well..That is starting to get more uncomfortable then the pain in my chest actually....

Trying not worry about this too much.....Help:)

Wait it out and see if it gets better...Or check it out at Urgent care??

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Called my doctor...she wants me to call ambulance...I called my dad he is coming to get me and take me to ER.

I hope to hell it is anxiety.

I went three months though eating 100-200 give or take a few a day...so this put so much stress on my heart.

Oh I hope for anxiety!

Libby - with everything you have gone through in the last 24 months - you MUST be seen by a doctor. Please.

any kind of chest pain and shortness of breath should be checked out asap. if you can, go to ER but if you're hesitant to do that, please at least go to your doctor. tell them it's chest pain and they'll eitehr see you immediately or tell you to go to ER. you really need to get it checked out esp with sharp pains in your arms. do it for your kids!

Hi tad-

Get to an emergency room/urgent care...

Best case is it is anxiety...

Worst case is that it is more serious...and you are JUST where you need to be...

PLEASE GO!

even panic attacks subside, and do generally last so long or cause pain to your shoulders. I would think this is deep muscle problems or something more serious. Time for a doctor check up.

You really should see a doctor.

I have had muscle spasms that took my breath away and were extremely painful, caused from knotted muscles in my back. Either way please have it checked.
