Stride Rite. Every time I try to save money I end up going back to Stride Rite and overall end up spending more. They have all the half sizes, all the widths, and plenty to choose from.

I am not typically a name brand dropper, but have learned with four kids that shoes simply last longer if I spend a bit more on them. I have had the best luck/durability with Sketchers and Adidas.

When my kids were little I always bought stride rite. The guarantee them until outgrown. My boys would get two or three pairs out of that guarantee. :)

1.99 ones!

Just kidding. But in all honestly - they grow so fast that I try to find bargains on good shoes. We go to Marshalls, JCPennys and famouse footwear and can get some great deals.

Our fav brands Buster Browns (Famous Footwear), New Balance (got my dd a pair Sunday for $1.99 at JCPenny clearance) , Saucany (we find cheap at Marshalls).

I love stride rite. There is an outlet in Colorado Mills that will often have good deals - and WIDE ones for my son's chubby little feet : )

The best I have found for little ones is see kai run. They are flexible and wide, which is perfect for little developing feet. I have read that little one's feet develop until 3 years of age, and it's important for shoes to be flexible. We have tried them all, stride rite (a little stiff), pedi ped (too narrow), airwalk, nike, converse (all too stiff). In the end it was See Kai Run, expensive, but was perfect for our little one.

Another option that works too, is SImple Kids. They are pretty flexible, got them when my DD was 2.5. The best thing is they are made from recycled material and you can just throw them in the wash when they get too dirty.

Another vote for Stride Rite. I always get mine at the outlet when they are having a buy one get one 50% off sale. My son gets a pair of sneakers and a pair of dress shoes each season.

I liked Stride Rite early walker shoes for both of my kids when they were first learning to walk.

Stride Rite wins- hands down! The outlets have good prices but I always get their feet measured at a non-outlet Stride Rite.

Stride Rite, See Kai Run, Keens, Merrill, Umi, Sketchers, New Balance to name a few. I'm not really partial to one particular brand. I'm more of a what's on sale, but still good quality. All of the above brands have held up well for my 9, 6 and 2 year old.
