Hello!!!
Does anyone know where I can get discounted Shedd Aquarium tickets in Chicago? I tried all the public libraries but they are all out of the passes. They said that is a very popular one and they are very hard to get.
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate any advice.
Thank you!
Kind Regards~

Shedd does have a free day each week. I think it is either Mon or Tues. Call to inquire or check their website. Have fun!
Check the shedd website- all of the museums routinely offer free days/weeks
True, the Oceanarium, Polar Play Zone, Wild Reef exhibits and the Fantasea Aquatic Zone are all extra, but the Great Kids Museum Passport free admission (two adults & two kids) still helps! I think it is the best deal of all of the passes.
You can get a paper list of all of the CPL's and phone the ones close to your home (look for the small neighborhood ones, but remember that you have to return it to the same one--during the hours they are open), and call them up first. Sure, they can't hold it for you, and even if they don't have it when you call, and someone can return theirs, right after your call.
Your other option is to go on the free days, (check their website) but get there VERY early. The line runs out of the building down into the park, and I don't know how much you can even see when it is so crowded!
A few years ago, I bought an annual membership to the Brookfield Zoo, and it didn't even cover the cost of one trip for myself and two adults--and now I continue to get donation requests from every animal rights group in existence!
Just so you know, the library passes only get you in for general admission, but then you have to add on all of the "special" exhibits - which aren't really special because some have been part of the Shedd for years.
We went with the annual pass because it was an awesome deal. I think we only have to go twice a year to make the pass worth the money. Just a thought.
