Enfamil w/iron worked for my daughter. Try that and see if it helps. Good luck!
We are struggling with a feeding issue I'm hoping the mommas might be able to drop some wisdom on.
We have decided to supplement with formula a bit so we can do a sitter a couple days a week (I am still pumping, but not getting quite enough to fill the days we plan to be apart - and the stress of trying to get enough isn't helping, so we decided supplementing was the best way to go). Anyways - we did a test run tonight and our four month old baby girl wasn't having any of it.
She hollered and cried and wouldn't take a bit of the formula. We were serving up Nestle's Good Start Supreme. The bottle itself is one she has taken before, and we both tried feeding her (her dad first, then me without any luck). We also waited until we were sure she was really hungry - which was confirmed when she wouldn't take the bottle and I finally broke down and gave her the boob and she ate like a champ.
I did a little research and read that sometimes changing brands helps. I was wondering if anyone has had success with a different brand, or if there are other tricks we could try?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Thank you all for the advice. It turns out the winner is Enfamil liquid formula. She still makes a funny face when we give it to her, but she'll take it. I am keeping up with my pumping during the day while she's at day care, so she's only needing the formula for one or two feedings a week. Mostly we just have it as back up in case she sucks up everything I pumped the day before and is still hungry, but it's really good to know it's there. Thanks again!

Don't give her formula. Increase your milk supply. You can drink Traditional Medicinals Mother's Milk tea and take Red Raspberry supplements. If you give your baby forumla, your milk supply will decrease. That started happening to me when I tried to give my baby formula.
I had to do the same thing with my daughter after each of my three breast infections. Try mixing the formula with some breast milk. She may recognize the taste & eat. Good luck!
Is it the bottle that she doesn't want, or do you think it's only the formula? Formula obviously tastes different than breast milk. Breast milk is actually sweeter and has a better smell than formula of any brand. She probably just prefers the good stuff. My son, who is 5 months old, also prefers only breast milk for a very long time, until we start giving him one little bottle of formula each day so that my husband can feed him too. He drinks it, but makes a face every time. BTW, we feed him Enfamil.
