I have very curly hair, but its not very frizzy, just ringlets. But if I don't take care of it, it would be frizzy.

Avoid products that say 'for dry hair' because they will contain waxes and that will over time build up and make your hair WORSE. There are some that I've had good luck with, but try to avoid taht for the most part.

Only shampoo every other day, or ever two days, but condition every day. SAy on Monday I shampoo and condition, but on Tuesday I only condition in the shower, and weds I shampoo and condition, thurs I only condition, and so on. Shampoo can be harsh, and it strips away alot of moisture in your hair, so if you can go 1-2 days between using shampoo, your hair will be alot healthier because of it.

Watch how you comb and brush. If your hair tends to be frizzy or dry, only comb it when its wet, and use a wide tooth comb starting at the bottom and work your way up. Wet hair is fragile nad prone to breaking, so be gentle. NEVER USE A BRUSH ON WET HAIR! Once your hair is dry, leave it alone. Brushing it will only make it more frizzy and dry. Allowing it to dry naturally will not only allow the cuticle to seal so its not fuzzy, but it'll not expose your hair to further damage from teh blow dryer.

Paul Mitchell products are wonderful, and I really like the Tigi line as well. I don't know much about flaky/dandruff, as I've never had it, but I'm sure if you consulted with a good stylist or salon owner, you would get great information and recommendations.

If you hair is that bad I would only shampoo it once a week condition it the rest of the time. You will save on hair products and you hair wont be all processed out. Don’t rub your hair dry. I’m not sure about the flakiness but I heard that you can use baking soda and or vinegar, you have to work with it to figure out what your combination would be so lots of trial and error.
I like
Loreal vive pro.
Citre Shine
But sometimes you have to just keep trying new ones.

Try using regular shampoo and conditioner and then use "Super Skinny" as a leave-in conditioner/detangler/moisturizer. I get mine at Fantastic Sam's. My son is mixed and has the really dry "black/afro" hair and it makes his hair super soft and manageable. I have permed and colored my hair and it makes it so I can run my fingers through it with ease - better than any other conditioner I've ever used.

I just read about this product after seeing someone else recommend it, but I have yet to try it so I don't know if it really works. It sounds wonderful and I am probably going to try it in the future.

Hey C.!
I am a hairdresser by trade and I have found that an ultra-hydrating shampoo and conditioner along with a weekly deep conditioning treatment works the best. Is your hair colored because that will affect it as well. I really saw good results with Envia Ultra-Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. When looking for a deep conditioner try one that is a cream.

I am going to go against all the rules of hair care here, but it has worked for me for 15 years. I have very dry, coarse hair, but the crown of my hair gets very oily. Because of the oilyness, I HAVE to wash my hair (with shampoo - not just conditioner) every single day. If I let my hair air dry, it balloons out all around my head and looks horrendous! So I also blow dry my hair, while using a brush (on wet hair) to striaghten it, every single day. The thing that works for me is to use Pantene's hydrating shampoo and conditioner for curls (even though my hair is NOT curly)and then when I get out of the shower I use a lot of Pantene's curl defining scrunching mousse. It says right on the bottle that it tames frizz and it has been a miracle worker for me. Most everyone will freak out when I say I use Pantene because it apparently puts a wax on your haor, but like I said, 15 years and no problems for me. I think the trick for me is to use a Hydrating shampoo and conditioner as well as hydrating mousse. I don't use products that say "for dry hair" The products that are intended for curly hair work best for me, and then I just blow dry my hair straight.
