My nephews use Aveeno baby shampoo and my sister swears by it. My poor little guy doesn't have enough hair to require much shampoo yet so I've never tried it myself.
My daughter is 4 months old and has very thick/long hair. I only wash her hair once a week but when I do it dryd her scalp out. Then her head is dry for the next few days. Right now I'm using Johnson's baby shampoo, is there something else I should try? My mom said put baby oil on her head but I don't want her to have greasy hair either. Any suggestions? TIA
Thanks for all the advice! I will definatly try a few:) and the poster who suggested to cut her hair HECK no! She's only 4 months old! And washing get hair isn't a problem she loves her bath time...and I personally do not like short hair on little girls
@M. you didn't give your 4 months old baths? sorry but i like clean babys.

My daughter had so much hair since the day she was born that she looked like she was wearing a wig. I only shampooed her hair *maybe* once a month. It never got greasy, and she cried like she was being tortured whenever I did shampoo her.
One product I used on my son (this helped with cradle cap too) was Arbonne's baby wash. You can use it as a body wash and a shampoo. I also added a drop or two of the Arbonne baby oil to keep his skin/scalp from drying out. If you know of anyone who sells Arbonne, I'm sure they would be all to happy to give you a free sample of the stuff. If it doesn't work for you, then you're not out any money :-) Good luck!
Try Burts Bees shampoo bar for babies. I loved that for my kids. Both of them tended toward a dry scalp but the shampoo bar really helped. Earth Mama Angel Baby also makes a fantastic baby shampoo.
I used to put baby oil on my DD's head and let it sit for around 10-15 minutes to soak in, then give her a bath. I normally used Johnson's baby shampoo, but I have seen an Aveeno oatmeal baby shampoo. Maybe something for you to check into? I also used to use Head & Shoulders conditioner on her. Just a tiny dab, comb it through, let it sit for a little while (during which time you can wash her body) then rinsed it.
Good luck!
I second the the Paul Mitchell shampoo for babies.. Not sure if you have an ulta beauty by you at your mall. They have good prices on this shampoo and sometimes u can print a 20 percent off coupon from their website and take that in with you. Or drugstore.com sell the shampoo and conditioner. Sounds like your DD is blessed with beautiful hair.

Try washing her hair without shampoo or soap. Or just use a fraction of a drop of shampoo mixed with a little water in your hand. Don't rub the shampoo on he scalp at all. Just squeeze it thru her hair.
I always used both shampoo and conditioner. Comb the conditioner through the hair and rinse well.
At 4 months she is still a baby. I see no sense in using soap/shampoo on her ever but if you have to wait till she is "playing" and getting dirty.
Paul Mitchell makes baby shampoo and conditioners. Personally, I would cut her hair short until shes old enough to sit still for washing and brushing.
