Seventh Generation Diapers - Are They Good for Newborn Boys?

Due with my 2nd son in a few weeks and about to buy some diapers - first son we used the Pamper Swaddlers but I swtiched to 7th generation after having to constantly clean beads off of him after he peed. As he got older he began peeing through the 7th generation diapers and we ended up on Huggies. Really want to try the 7th Gen diapers again and know that every child is different but wanted to get some opinions from other moms, especially of boys. What are your thoughts on how well these diapers work?

What can I do next?

My son is 6 weeks old and we've been using the 7th Gen diapers from the newborn size (now size 2). We haven't had any problems with them at all. We've only had 1 or 2 leaks altogether. From what a remember when my daughter was in diapers, they tend to run smaller than Pampers, but you just have to move up to the next size a little sooner.

I was a mainly cloth user but I did use disposables every once in a while for night (behind in my wash) or travelling. I experienced a lot of leaks with Seventh Genreration. However, if you want to stick to the chlorine free - Earth's Best makes a chorline free diaper too and I liked them A LOT better than 7th generation. They seemed more absorbent and just seemed to fit better. The only problem for me was that I could not find them in any store except Babies R US. They do sell the Earth's Best brand in the online diaper stores as well.

Seventh Generation never worked for us. Not thick or absorbent enough for us. We ended up using the Whole Foods store brand of disposable diapers.

My son was only in disposables, for two months before we switched to cloth. In those two months, we didn't like the fit of seventh generation. We did have very good luck with Earth's Best diapers. They fit well and were very absorbent.

the gel beads are only a problem in the pampers swaddlers and the pampers cruisers.. the pampers baby dry doesn not leave beads on the baby..

Pampers was teh best diaper for my tall skinny kids.. Hugges leak around the legs.. (but my kids had skinny legs)

7th Gen diapers are one of the few that don't make my youngest break out in diaper rash, BUT they don't seem to absorb very much. He never made it through a night in them. I think it all depends on the shape of your little one which of the major brands will work best. My oldest was a pampers baby and my youngest is a huggies man.

My friend has used them and liked them on both her sons. I have tried them with my daughter and don't love the fit (bulkier and more likely to leak). I liked pampers when my babies where small and huggies when the kids got bigger. My slimmer one stayed in pampers longer, my othe one was big from the start and mostly was in huggies.

I used 7th Gen diapers until my son was almost a year. When he moved into the bigger sizes, it started leaking--and I was very religious about constantly changing my son's diaper. I ended up using Huggies and never regretted it.

I have a 6 month old little girl. We started with Huggies Naturals, but they also left those beads and often some redness. Personally, I will never use 7th Generation diapers again. We got them as a gift and returned them quickly after using 1 or 2. Thankfully Whole Foods Mkt took them back. They are definitely not made for baby comfort. We recently (1 1/2 mths ago) started an Amway business through which we now buy our diapers. The brand is KozyKids- unscented, comfy fit, well made, no leaks, and no diaper rash since using them and no cream needed at night time. The wipes are awesome too. If you are interested in them, I can send you a link. Even if we weren't in the business, I would totally still be buying these diapers and wipes and telling people about them. They are the best ever! :)

I had a problem with the fit on my newborn son. I use 7th Gen for lots of products, but the diapers just didn't work out.
