hi moms my 19 month old daughter will vomit if she drinks more then like 18 ounces of milk. would this be a milk allergy? has anyone experienced this? i made an appt. with her dr on thursday to have this checked out and to see if thats what it is. i have no issue putting her on soy if thats whats best. she has been on whole milk since she was a year old and has always had this problem. also i think thats when the eczema started on her face but i dont know for sure. any helpful advice would be great! :)

So What Happened?

thanks for the advice!! her dr said that we should put her on lactose free milk. i could do soy but it would probably constipate her (and i dont want that). im going to request an allergy test at 2 because i think it iwll be easier then to do and i want a broad sectrum test to out rule everything (especially bees). thanks again!!!

I would say....at your DR push for an immuno-cap. It is basically an allergy test by blood. It is really simple. If there are specific things that you would like to test ask your DR, otherwise there is a standard list (milk protein, eggs, and others). If you have any intention of trying almond milk, ask for almonds to be included on the test. I would recommend against just trying it until you know because kids with allergies aren't usually allergic to just one thing & tree nut allergies can be severe.

Regarding your daughter's vomiting. My twins had the exact same thing & sure enough they have a milk protein allergy.

As a side note-- Lactaid won't help as it still contains the milk protein even though it is lactose free. If you don't want to try soy, you can try Rice Dream.

Good luck

Try Almond milk instead of soy.
Soy milk has a LOT of contraindications with it, and it adversely affects a child's (boy or girl's) hormonal balance and physiological development. In some cases, it brings on "precocious puberty."
Soy milk, has naturally occurring estrogen in it. Not good for babies/children.

My daughter went thru the same thing. She had ecxema all her life. Then after a stomach bug, started throwing up everytime she had milk. When we put her on soy, the vomiting and the eczema went away. Now when she has dairy, she doesn't throw up, but her skin starts to react with rashes/eczema again.
