I have always heard if you are requesting RSVP's that the appropriate length of time is 7-10 days prior to the date that you are requesting the RSVP.
What is the appropriate length of time to send out birthday party invitations?

I am actually planning my oldest son's birthday right now. I've always sent invitations 2 wks before the party. And all the birthday party invitations that my son's have received have always been received 1 to 2 weeks before the party.
Have fun!
i usually send out birthday invitations so they get there 1 wk before the actual party date. that way people have enough time to plan but not enough time to forget.
Have a wonderful day!!!

I think it depends on the type of party (ie sleepovers versus a few hour afternoon party, or pool party), and the time of year. More of a time commitment may require more notice. If it falls near a major holiday, people may need more notice than slower times of year. Also, if it falls during a time of year when people vacation or take trips (ie summer), you may want to give them a heads up early, say, three weeks to a month in advance, so they have a chance to respond before they may leave for a week!
Hi A.: I usually send the invitations out two weeks in advance. Is enough time for them to get ready for it.

Depending on type of party...if home or at an establishment. Home parties are a litte more intimate and a week may be sufficient if just inviting a few family/friends. If you need an RSVP for a recreation facility you may want to know who will be attending so a little more time may be needed to book reservations.
two weeks. You don't want to send them to late because people will not have enough time to plan ahead.. but you dont want to send them to early or they may forget to plan ahead!
I think 2 weeks in adavnce.
I think a week is just right for party invites...I have found if they are earlier, I forget...and if they are later, I already have plans....
I say at least 2 weeks. I have some many things going on especially on weekends that the sooner I get it the better chance I will be able to make it and even buy a gift.
I own a business selling invitations and announcements. I believe proper etiquette is 2 weeks prior to the party. About one week before your child's birthday party, you should call those who haven't responded to ask them if they received the invitation and ask them if their child will be attending the party. This act as a reminder and it'll also give you peace of mind as to who will be attending your party.
contact the invite list to see if the child will be able to attend before sending invites out. I have found this easier on their parent. About a week is good if you call two weeks ahead to verify verbally first is great. You will have a much better responce!
I'm full of fun party ideas too! =)

you should send them out at least two to one week of the party. if you send it off to early people will not remember it.
Hi A.,
I always like to receive an invitation two/three weeks in advance.
Best
I agree 2weeks. Any longer, it will be forgotten. Any sooner, people will already have plans.
