I am not sure what is abnormal about the cells. If it is displaisia (sp???) they have determined that this often goes away on its own which is why they no longer freeze. I would talk more in depth to your dr.
I just found out today that my adnormal cells came back. I had them before, and they froze my utrius. They stay gone for a year. Now they are back/ Does anyone know other then freezing what can my doctor do? He does not belive in the freezing method, because it does not get all the cells! I am so worried, this might effect my chance on getting pregnant. I hate this. I am so scared! My doctor told me I do not have the hp virus, which is good. Both my sister and I have adnormal cells. My sister had her froze like 5 times. I was told that could cause you to have a miscarriage. Which my sister did have. I hear people talking about Leep. What is that? I know when I was pregnant the last time, my adnormal cells got really bad. They told me the next step would have been cancer. I am not looking foward to haveing the copo, and biaopsy. They hurt really bad. I am trying to have a baby. But if the cells come back again and again, after I have my next baby, shold I go ahead and get the hystoretmy? I also have endo really bad. Doctor already told me that I will have to have one. Will the adnormal cells go away once I do?

They won't do a hysterectomy unless it is extremely necessary. I had Mild Dysplasia and was frozen and fine for 4 years then on my first prenatal visit with my second pregnancy it was back!!! I asked to get a hysterectomy so I don't have to keep going thru this but instead I will have to settle for getting my tubes tied as it can be dangerous to your pregnancies and there isn't much in the way of treatment when you are pregnant. I think the next step after freezing is burning the cells, but then again I'm not sure I'm in the same boat as you sorta except I am pregnant not trying to get that way.
I have had these abnormal cells before I had my last child but mine have not came back but I am having medical problems with heavy bleeding I just recently had a biopsy done and they do hurt I am awaiting the results of it now I did have a child after having my cells froze she was my last one I had a tubiligation after her but I did have a healthy baby girl
I have not had this problem, but have
had some family members that heave dealt with similar things. Are you anywhere near Chapel Hill? They have a great Cancer center there, my grandmother was treated there and a cousin of mine was as well. I'll be thinking about you. Good luck.
I know that you are scared but having knowledge helps. There is a procedure called LEEP which will remove the abnormal areas. Here is a website with more information. I have had 3 colposcopys and 1 LEEP procedure. I am 37 and just had my first baby. I know exactly what you are going through and if you want to talk off line, let me know.

I have abnormal cells too! I talked with one of my good friends who is an oncologist and he told me that basically the problem would continue unless I had a hysterectomy and to be sure to have the inside of my walls checked for abnormal cells also. He said that when they get a pap or do the cryosurgery and other things they are not able to get all the areas that are affected. I am 43 years old and have two teens a boy and a girl and I don't plan on having anymore so having a hysterectomy won't be a problem for me. But as for your situation I would check with maybe another OB/GYN and get another opinion and some other options for myself. I hope all works out for you!
Hey! I went through the same thing for a while. I had a couple of cryos done and the LEEP procedure twice. Finally, the tests started coming back normal. Since then I have had FOUR beautiful children so, don't get discouraged about that. Good Luck!
