Seeking Several Doctors

Hi! I can't recommend a pedi because I am looking for one myself, but I can recommend a WONDERFUL ob/gyn! She is in the HEB area though, right off Central by Harris HEB. If you are looking for personable, she is worth the short 15 minute drive. Her name is Dr. Emily Emmet and I've been seeing her for over a year and she is VERY personable and does not rush through the appointment at all. She is in a practice with only one other dr so getting to meet with her is easy. Her number is ###-###-####. My dentist, Dr. Fitzner is also great. He is in NRH off Rufe Snow. He is very nice and calming which is soothing to me, which I need when I go to the dentist. His staff is wonderful and I have gotten the same Dental Assistant for my cleaning appointments over the last year or so, which is really nice. His number is ###-###-####. I believe there is only one other dentist in his office too. Lastly, my daughter's pediatric dentist is great too. It is called Just for Kids and they are in Keller off Denton Hwy and their number is ###-###-####. They have a website you should check out www.justforkidsdentistry.com She has been seeing them for about a year (she is only 2 1/2) and the 2 appointments that she has had have been good. She was very scared to be there and didn't want to cooperate and they didn't force her to let them clean her teeth which I thought was great. They did have her sit facing me in my lap and they layed her back just to look at her teeth to be sure there weren't any problems, and luckily there weren't so they opted to skip the cleaning this time. They said they didn't want to scare her even more and make the experience traumatic. If there had been a problem, I am sure they would have done something to calm her (not sure what, but I'm sure working with children every day, they have something). They also have TV's above the chairs and the children get to pick a movie when coming back to watch while they wait and while they have their work done. There waiting room is very nice with video games, books and a large fish tank. I hope this helps some and if you want any other info, let me know.

Hi S.! Welcome to the area. You will love this area! I have the most wonderful pediatrician for you. His name is Dr. John Dalton. He's part of the Cook Children's Network of doctors. He has an office with a bunch of other doctors over off of Precinct Line and Mid Cities Blvd. It takes about 15 min to get over there, but my OB/GYN referred me to him 9 years ago and we never looked back. I can't remember how many people I have referred. Everyone that has gone there loves him. The office is great, the staff, the doctors, etc. Dr. D will sit with you and explain stuff to you until you understand it and feel comfortable. He's not an in/out in a flash doctor at all. If your child is sick, they will get you in. I called one day at 2:00 in the afternoon and they got me in at 3:30. There is also a emergency room type place around the corner that you can go to that's just for kids.
I know that they do take new patients, so you should give them a try. Let me know if you need more infomation!

How do you feel about Physican Assistants? There is a PA that is in Keller named Russell Daily and is absolutely wonderful!! He is in a small office off of Keller Pkwy (1709), normally on time and will take the time that is needed for your visit, very kid friendly and a relaxed but professional office atmosphere! I have seen peditricians but prefer the GP and like I said he is wonderful and lets you know what is going on and what needs to happen in 'regular' language not the doctor language where you have to go home and look it up on the internet. I hope this helps a little in your search... The office is open Monday thru Saturday, late hours a couple days a week and 8-12 on Saturdays. Here is their number and address.

I have a wonderful OB/GYN, although he is in the HEB area directly across from the Harris HEB hospital. Not more than 15 minutes from Keller though. His name is Dr. Ted Preston. There are 3 other doctors in the group as well and they are all wonderful.

As for pediatricians, Dr. Joel Walker, who is in the same building as Dr. Preston is wonderful.

I love my Obgyn...his name is Dr. Michael White and he is in Keller. He always takes time to listen and I never feel rushed!
