ok ladies here is the deal. my son use to have some pearly whites. really white. then all of a sudden they aren't so white anymore. he doesn't drink cokes or anything sugary. he drinks plenty of water too. so i have switched toothpastes thinking that maybe the toothpaste wasn't cleaning but it makes no difference. the majority of his mouth is white but the bottom left teeth aren't. it makes no sense. when i took him to the dentist they cleaned his teeth but it didn't make much of a difference. what should i try next?

What can I do next?

Has he been taking antibiotics? Our last trip to the dentist, the hygenist mentioned my daughter's teeth were discolored and told us antibiotics can make them darker. They mentioned a toothpaste they could give us that was very porous we could use following an antibiotic treatment.

The newer permanent teeth grow in darker. Next against teh baby teeth the look awful, but as all the teeth come in they will seem white.

Talk with you dentist. They don't usually recomend using anything to whiten childrens teeth because of damage to the enamel.

M.,

My seven year old son had the same thing. All of his teeth were very white except for his middle two lower teeth. The dentist did clean them and all was white again. I don't know if or what kind of vitamins your son takes but she said for us to stop using the "gummy" kind because they can stain the teeth. She also recommended to start using "regular" toothpaste with fluoride and not the childrens beginner kind anymore because that can start to stain them as well. We have been doing what she said for quite awhile now and still no staining. I hope this helps. Good luck.

We use the Listerine pre rinse to whiten before we brush.

When we want a better touch up, we use the crest strips for 2-3 days.

This routine for my 14 yr old daughter and myself.
