My daughter is nearing her 4th birthday and we still haven't seen a dentist. She is very fearful of the idea. So, I need a sensitive female (her request) dentist with lots of patience. We are in the Westchester area but, I would go to West LA or Southbay areas. Anybody Know of one????

I recently took my son (2 years, 9 months) to his first dental appointment. We went to Dr. Reem at Smiles Ped. Dentistry on Pico- near Westside Pavillion. I have to say that it was a fantastic experience and my guy can't wait to go back. My daughter and a lot of her preschool friends LOVE Dr. Hila Robbins. She's close to UCLA, is very gentle, and even has a little yorki dog that can sit on your daughter's lap while getting her exam. I was nervous about how my 3 1/2 yo would react to a dental treatment, but she was just fine, and learned more of the importance of good dental care from the doctor (instead of me nagging her). The kids can pick out a video to watch during the cleaning and exam. And there's even a tree with a bunch of toys so that at the end of the appointment kids can pick out a toy - nothing fancy, but my daughter was excited. Anyhow, I'd highly recommend her. She's totally got the kid thing down!

We like Dr. Reem. My daughter saw her for the first time at 3. The selling point was her website since we were able to see Dr. Reem her staff and offices before going. It took some of the mystery out of the visit. Her practice is called smiles. The website below will have all the information you need.
I highly recommend Dr. Janelle Holden in Manhattan Beach - wonderful pediatric practice that my daughter started going to at the age of 2 1/2. Now she is 4 1/2 and loves going to the dentist.
