Before doing that, please see Dr. Anthony Bacevice Jr., and talk with him ... He is (by far) the best OB I have come across ... you MAY have other options :)
I am currently seeing a doctor at The Reserve for treatment of endometriosis. Recently had a laparoscopy in which he recommended hysterectomy. I am just seeking confirmation from people who have gone to the doctors at The Reserve in trusting the advice given me. Thanks.
Thank you everyone for your responses. I appreciate it. Matter has been resolved so I don't need anymore responses. Thanks again.

I see Dr. Marchetta and I would trust him with my life. My two sisters and mother go to him too. I read the other replies and it is true that he isn't a great person to work for but he is wonderful to his patients and gives them the best care possible. I would trust his judgement. He has treated both my sister and me for endometriosis. He is not a "knife happy" doctor. He doesn't do surgery unnecessarily.
Good luck!

My Mom is also a patient of Dr. Marchetta and had a hysterectomy a few years back. Over all she was very happy with his care and with the fact that he didn't take the hysterectomy decision lightly. He was patient in working with her in trying other solutions before making the tough decision to have a hysterectomy. He was absolutely wonderful with her on the day of the surgery (I was there for that) and she still continues to go to him for medical care. With that said, if you are uneasy about his recommendation, you should most definitely get a second opinion from another doctor so that you will feel confident that surgery is your best option. Best of luck to you, I hope all goes well.
I agree if you are not sure about this decision. I would seek a second opinion. I don't got to this dr. but if you are uneasy about this decision I would get a second thought on the decision. It is certainly cheaper to go and get a second opinion than to go through a surgery you are uneasy about.
D.,
Get a second opinion from another doctor NOT at The Reserve.
Dear D.,
I cringe anytime a DR might mention hysterectomy. Recently I read a whole article in Good Housekeeping (p 53, March 08). It is such a great article. Please read it.
I place or in spite of the article and the cringing, please, please, please get a second opinion fro a different OB practice. A good one in the NKY area is OB/GYN SPecialists of Northern Kentucky. They have two locations. All the doctors in the practice are favorites of the nurses in the OB W. of St. Elizabeth.

He isn't the niceest person around. He does treat his patients well but my mother-in-law works for him and complains about his bad attitude daily. She does however says he knows his stuff and he comes highly recommended! Hope this helps. Good luck!
Hi! I had all four of my boys with Drs. at the Reserve. I love them all. Dr. Pedersen delivered my first 2, then Dr. Golden delivered #3, then Dr. Polifrone delivered my last (with help form Dr. Drake). I saw Dr. Burton often, Dr. Marchetta did one of my amnios, I saw Dr. Bowersox a couple of times, I just love Dr. Espinal, oh and I saw the mid-wife with one of my pregnancies!. I would not go anywhere else. Whenever I had questions or concerns, they were always respectful, they never made me feel as if I was wrong or stupid. They always explained things thoroughly,I think they could tell that I was not the type to take any bs! (heehee)They all seem to be very careful about what they do, and they would rather err on the side of caution. So, I would do research, ask alot of questions, pray, ask for another opinion if that makes you comfortable. Be well and God bless.
