I'm so sorry for the pain you are experiencing. I, too, have an autistic child, although he's now 26 and doing very well. He lives at home and goes to a day habilitation program in the Cypress area which he loves.
I don't know of a good psychiatrist in the Katy area, but my heart went out to you, and I just HAD to write you. One suggestion would be to find a family doctor who might give you a month's prescription of your meds and recommend a psychiatrist for you to see. Have you met any neighbors who could recommend a good family doctor?
I always try to encourage moms of autistic children. Things DO get better with lots of work. Your child is entitled to certain things in Texas, like early childhood education, limited student/teacher ratio and structured environment at school. YOU are entitled to parent education, as well as other things. Katy is a good school district for special education, and I would recommend going to your local elementary school or even the Director of Special Education and asking for evaluations of your son. They are required by law to do this for you.
I hope things improve for you at home. Support is what you need now, not unrest at home. God bless you.
