Seeking Prayer for Husband

I've never posted here but I feel led to ask for prayer from any of you who feel led. A year ago we moved here because my husband found a job here in the Dallas area. We had to move right away and leave our home in Phoenix. At the time, the market was still pretty good and houses were selling within 2-3 months. We priced our house to sell and found a house here. The income with the new job was fine to cover the two mortgages and we felt sure that our home would sell. Well, as you all know, the market crashed. Our house is still sitting there and we've lost over 100,000 in the value of our home. The neighborhood we lived in was hit very hard and from what our old neighbors say, there are about 4-5 foreclosures on each street! Now if we sell we'll be totally upside down so we are trying to rent it out. Last week my husband's department was totally closed along with much of the other departments around him with his company. We are now out of work. I feel totally overwhelmed and I was wondering if any of you would pray for me. Like I said, only if you feel so led. I know that God is sovereign in all things and that He gives good things to his children. I know that those "good things" are often trials that draw us more fully unto Him. I know that I want to do His will without complaining as the Israelites did in the desert eating manna--who were then given so much meat that it made them sick. But I do ask for prayer because although I know those things I don't feel them in my heart. Thank you so much.

What can I do next?

My family was in the same situation last year this time. We had a 3 year old and a new baby. It is hard, but all things are possible when God is on your side. I know your husband will find a new job and everything will work out for your family. You will come through this stronger than before. I'll say a prayer for you and your family. Merry Christmas!!

Your request for prayer brought to mind one of my favorite Bible verses:

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Keep your hope as He will renew you.

I will pray that you find peace and comfort in God's amazing love during this time. I will also pray for wisdom on where to go from this point on. I know during difficult times it is hard to feel in our hearts what we know in our heads. I also feel the same way during hard times. I will pray that you feel God's presence in your life as you and your husband try to discern His will for your life and your family. Trust in Him, and know that God will be with you in every breath you take.

Good morning E.
I'm so sorry you are going through this right now. I don't know that I have any words of comfort for you, however, your family and you are in my prayers. I had a similar experience not too long ago. I know you feel helpless, angry, sad, disappointed all kinds of feelings all at the same time. It will pass. keep your head up. Don't loose hope. Keep praying the Lord never gives us soo much that we can not handle it. But you have to trust that you will get through it. I will keep praying for you just like all the moms on here will do for you.

I will pray for you and your husband.

Also, think about which house you need to keep.... the one you live in... and talk to a financial advisor or email Suze Orman. I don't know what I'd do... rent the one in Phoenix? Stop paying on the one in Phoenix? But I'd keep up with the one you live in here, as this market is more stable.

Jobs are around, but hard to get. You are doing the best thing possible, praying and letting the Lord guide you.
