Good for you for doing what you believe is best for your kids even though "bucking the norm" is not the easiest route, for sure. I am in Oklahoma and have yet to find a pediatrician who is supportive of my alternative vaccination schedules, but I do it anyway. I dread going to the doctor for shots because they always tell me how many vaccines "behind" schedule we are, and how he needs to get this one, this one, this one, and this one today while he's there. I just grit my teeth, smile, and say, "Well, today we just want to do this one and this one. That's it. We'll come back another time for the others." and then that's really all they can do - the ones you've given permission for. I'm thinking I'll go to the health department for the next ones just to see if that's any easier.
For school, I picked up a vaccine exemption form from the health dept. and made several copies for future years, little brother etc. I fill it out, explaining which ones we've skipped or postponed and why, and give it to the school when we enroll. So far I've only had to present it once per child, when we started pre-K and then again when we switched schools once due to moving. I've found it's not an easy road, but it's worth it to me, to know I'm not just blindly following the crowd, but doing what's best for our particular children.
