Seeking Pediatric Dentist in Chicagoland Area: City, North, Northwest Burbs

Hi Mamas! My son is 16 months and I'm searching for a pediatric dentist. The yelp reviews are scary. Seems the things to avoid are a dentist who is rough or scary, one that insists on gas for minor procedures, or extremely high prices. I dont even mind excessive pruces for someone good. I'm willing to go anywhere...city, north, northwest suburbs.

Who has a fantastic pediatric dentist to recommend?

What can I do next?

I take my kiddo to Kids Plus in Wicker Park (http://www.kidspluspediatricdentistry.com/). The front office staff is nice and they actually call and send postcard reminders of your appointment (seems rare in the adult world of dentist/doctor's offices). My son even got a $5 gift certificate in the mail to Building Block Toys this year for his birthday.

I took my daughter to Yummy Dental once and LOVED it...very kid friendly but unfortunately they didn't accept our insurance. I take her to my dentist now...Dr Cushing on Clark near Fullerton. Everyone is great with her...she's almost four now but started there around two.

Dr Robert Govoni at Brushing on Belmont is great. My son loves him. We still drive in from the north shore to see him.:)

We went to Yummy Dental once and didnt like the services that they recommended for my then 2 year old, so we went to Dr Mary Hayes at Pediatric Dental Health Associates off Mich Ave and LOVED her...we continue to go there twice a year!

My boys have been going to Children's Dental World in Bridgeport since they were two. They do not allow the parents to go back to the exam. They treat the first couple of visits as "fun visits" to acclimate them to the office and getting used to sitting in the chair, opening their mouth, etc. and don't charge insurance (usually because they bring the child back after 5mins or so). My older son had 2 fun visits and was able to have a full exam at his 3rd birthday, while my younger son had only 1 visit and let them do an exam and cleaning at 2-1/2. I had been going to the adult dentist there when I worked in the area. Both of the dentists there ("Dr. Sam" and "Dr. Bubna") are wonderful.

Yummy Dental on Lincoln (Dr. Yum). They are so geared up for kids. My four and two year olds have no problem going to the dentist!
