I need to take my drama queen of a daughter to the dentist, she just turned 3 and I am so nervous to take her. She recently hit her head and needed to get a CT scan and I think it scared her for life with people who need to do anything with her "head" or mouth. Needless to say, I am looking for a wonderful kid friendly dentist in the Macomb area. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

While he is not in the Macomb Township area, he is worth the drive - Dr. Raffi Belian of Modern Dentistry (www.drbelian.com). He is located in Troy at Rochester Road and Square Lake. Excellent with kids and adults - builds a rapport with kids -- mine loves him. My sister was totally traumatized by a dentist and by the time she was 11 she refused to go -- we found Dr. Belian and he worked with her and she just loves him (she's 17 now). His number is ###-###-####. His hygientist is really good with both kids and adults, too. A small office that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for cleanings and treatment. He really works to get children to like to go to the dentist, especially good with children who have difficulties due to fear.

there are very few pediatric dentists...

we go to warren pediatric dentist which is at hoover and 11.5 mile.. they are ok.. cant say that I love them

there is a place in troy.. 18 and dequindre area... they only take appts for new patients once amonth... I have heard good things about them.. but I dont have time to play games on gettin an appt.

my daughter is a 4 year old drama queen. she screams the entire time we are at the dentist.. they have to put her in a room with a door..(the door is padded to keep the nosie in.. so she wont scare the other kids..

the bill for a cleaning at the pediatric dentist is $230... so be prepared..

My dentist said they would nto work on her if she screamed.. so we are stuck with the pediatric dentist until she gives up this screaming behavior.

We see Dr. Makowski (or Dr. Mak) at 17 Mile and Garfield. Here's the website: www.mychildsteeth.com

He was very gentle with my (then) 15 month old. We have another appointment in February and I'm not nervous at all, he's very good with my daughter. She will be 21 months old the next time he sees her.
