I agree sinus infection, I was told if they have green or yellow stuff coming out and its been past a week or two its most likely a sinus infection, if its been over a week and a half, I'd bring him in.

my son is 23 months and has a runny nose with green coming out, a cough and a fever that comes and goes is this the flu or a cold?
So i took my son to the doctor like EVERYONE suggested and waited 3 hours to be seen just to hear "oh it sounds like a cold"! He acted like he didn't even care. He said I don't doubt he is sick and it could just be a virus he should just fight it off! So looks like were gonna find a new doctor!!!!! So if anyone can recomend a good pediatrician in the Fresno area PLEASE let me know.It seems to me that all of you were more concerened for my sons health than the doctor. THANKS!

My doctor always advised if the fever didnt go away w/ in 3-5 days to come in.. otherwise it's viral and there's nothing they can do for the kids.. otherwise after 3-5 days it's usually bacterial and then that's when the antibiotics are given. i would try to alternate motrin & tylenol ever 3 hours.. keep up on the fluids and see how he is w/ the fever... my son did this a fever on friday.. no fever till saturday nite then the fever disappeared on sunday.. weird. but i didnt take him to the doctors.. hope all is well.. good luck :)
You should call your pediatrician with all those symptoms.
Colds almost never have fever associated with them despite also being viral. Most flu viruses do have fevers. Here's a chart that compares normal symptoms: http://www.tamiflu.com/about/coldflu.aspx
I would certainly call the pediatrician-as the other moms said, the green mucus is almost always a sign of infection. Only your pediatrician can determine if it's viral or bacterial (in which case an antibiotic may be recommended).
Time to go to the doctor!
Generally the flu has a high fever, you don't say what his fever is. I'm not sure about the coming and going, mine has never had the flu, but I thought the fever stayed pretty steady. Green runny nose is usually an indication of some kind of sinus infection. You need to call your pediatrician's nurse's line and ask them.
It may not be the flu but he sounds like he does have an infection of some sort. I would take him to the doctor.
Sounds like a sinus infection. He definetly should see a doctor.
Dear A.,
My motto is:
"Green means go."
...to the doctor.
I hope your little one feels better soon.
Take him to the Doctor.
How long has it been going on?
With a fever, it can be anything... take him to the Doctor.
Don't guess at it, because then you will not know for sure.
All the best,
Susan
I would take him to the doctor. Usually green and a fever means some type of infection is going on. Hope he gets to feeling better!
As a long-time mom (19+ years), my experience is that it is likely a sinus infection and you should take him to the doctor before it heads to his ears. When it comes to the little guys & girls, I don't try to second-guess. Your safest bet is to let the doctor deal with it.
Whenever you see green or dark yellowish mucus coming from a child’s nose or spitting it up always call your Doctor right away to get it checked out. It sounds like bronchitis, flu or worse. Green mucus is NEVER good.
With a fever and green stuff... both are signs of an infection. I'd bet ear or sinus. They don't always get a fever, but it's a sign of an infection. A cough is another sign of a sinus infection. Probably not the flu... but I'm not a Dr. Take him to the pediatrician. In the meantime, you can try lots of saline to clear the nose - syringe if you have to. OR if he'll tolerate it a saline rinse for his nose to clear out the GOOP! Good luck.
