I have many friends that participate and are very pleased.
Good luck
I just started homeschooling my 8 year old (3rd grade) but would like to meet up with some other families that homeschool. He misses his friends at school and I was hoping we could meet some more. Even if you are not a homeschool family but know where we could meet some please let me know.

I am a former acquaintance of the organizer & I hear its a great group!
Bravo to you!!!!!
I homeschooled my children through 12th grade, and enjoyed the Heritage homeschool group that meets in Vallejo/ Benicia area once a week, They have about 80 families and it really helped with the socialization, PE and other non-academic subjects. It was also a great source for field trips, yearbooks and graduations. There are quite a few groups like this in the Bay Area, here is a web site that offers them: People use these groups wheather they are independant or go through a charter school.

Enjoy your experience, it will be so worth it. I started homeschooling mine in 3rd grade and they are in college now and doing great, socially as well as academically. If you need more information feel free to contact me.

Check out programs at the Lindsey Wildlife Museum (Walnut Creek), and Lawrence Hall of Science (Berkeley). I know both have special classes for home schoolers and you may find families with common interests to yours.
