Seeking Organic Baby Wash/Shampoo

I use Dr. Bonners soap on me and the kids. You should be able to find it at most health food stores. I buy the unscented kind and add some essential oil to give it a light scent. We don't do well with fragrance around my house. But that combo works great. It doesn't lather as much as traditional soap, but it is good and I believe it is organic.

I get my kids shampoo from Melaleuca.com. You only need a dime sized amount so the bottle lasts forever and it does not contain harmful ingredients that studies show harm the health of my kids. Melaleuca has several shampoos to choose from from kids to adult but my favorite for my kids is the Herbal Shampoo and the Melaleuca Oil Shampoo. It got rid of the cradle cap stuff that my one son just couldn't shake with all the other shampoos. I even use it on my German Shepard, who has really dry skin. He doesn't scratch anymore.

I have very good products, the ingredients are vegetable- derived, parabens free,formaleehyde free and if you buy 3 at once, you save money, but they are not organic. If you are interested let me know.

If you want to save money, you won't save buying online from Melaleuca. To be a preferred customer, you have to spend 35 points per month, which comes out to anywhere from 60-80 dollars. When you add on shipping.....the savings is just not theres, especially if all you're looking for is baby wash, shampoo, etc.

I know because I tried it. I also didn't find their products to be "organic." Not like what you buy at whole foods.

I'm not trying to put down the company. A lot of ladies on here make their living selling it and love it. Lots of people like their products. But lots of people, like me, don't like their products. Just check it out and read the ingredients online if you can find them before you sign up.

I shop with a wellness company online. They offer all natural products for you and your family. They also offer a preferred customer discount if you shop there every month, and everything is super concentrated so your money goes a lot further. wow, i think $5.99 for 18 oz of an organic baby wash is pretty low! I use Burts Bees, and it's $7.50 for 8 oz! I love it, though. I bough a bottle at the beginning of December, and here it is the middle of March, and only about 1/8 of the bottle has been used. It goes pretty far. I am also on the same bottle of lotion (also BB) and it's about 1/4 gone.

I think a key is to use it in moderation...only use what you need. This is better for your baby, the environment, and your pocket book!

I'm sorry I don't know of anything cheaper. I really do think you've found a bargain paying $6 for 18 oz, though.

I buy the majority of my household products, as well as my son's shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, handwash, etc. from Melaleuca. Their products are the best I have found. As a preferred customer, you can get a 3 pack of the body wash and hair wash (you decide how you would like to mix the combination, ie. 2 body washes and 1 hair wash) for $13.99. The bottles are 11 oz. BUT the best part is that the products are concentrated, so they last longer than anything you buy in the store. For example, I bought a 3 pack for my son on AUGUST 31ST, 2007. We are STILL using the same products!! He is 3 and takes a bath daily or at a minimum every other day. I ordered 2 bottles of body wash and 1 hair wash. The only thing with Melaleuca is that you do have to join them as a customer (membership through March 20th is $1.00!! - normal membership is a one-time enrollment fee of $29.00) just like you would Costco or Sam's, BUT you DON'T have to buy in bulk. To get the preferred customer pricing, you do have to agree to purchase a minimum of 35 product points per month. This is really easy to do if you use just a few products. I use a lot of their products so I order around 75 points every month. 35 points averages out to between $40 - $60 a month depending on which products you order. They solely rely on word-of-mouth advertising, so that is why you have to join through someone else. You should really look for products that are more than organic, you need to use products that are paraben-free. Parabens have been linked to cancers and research shows we should "use caution." The problem is they are in A LOT of products.
Our family uses products mady by a company that has a patent on their revolutionary paraben-free products. Every product in the skin care line is paraben free. It includes body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, toner, night and daytime lotions...

Have you tried going to Walmart or Target cause I know they have alot of different type of baby products out there.I never used organic products but I have seen them in different store including Krogers.

You could try Krogers. Some stores have a Natures market with organic things and they have soaps too.

Arbonne offers an all natural body wash/shampoo combo product. The retail price is $14, however, you don't use very much at a time so the bottle lasts a few months.

I have uses these products on my kids for more than a year now. My four year has sensitive skin and cannot tolerate the products at the store marketed to kids.

I have looked at Whole Foods, HEB, which has a lot of organic/natural baby items now, and other places, priced between $7.00 - $12.00 - I hate paying so much but cannot find anything else. I get all my baby wash and personal cosmetics on Vitacost.com. They are quite a bit cheaper and have everything. One thing to look for in addition to being organic is no sodium lauryl sulfates, methyl or propylparabens. The first is a cheap, caustic foaming agent and the other is a very cheap toxic preservative. There are still lots of options, just read your labels. Dr. Bronners, lavender castile liquid soap is my favorite. Completely organic, very gentle, totally pure, and a little goes a long way.

Why not try the homemade kind? It is in bar form. Heritage Acres in Waco, Texas. Try ordering from them. It has honey, coconut oil, etc. It is good for skin and hair. This is all they used years ago. If you prefer liquid, you chop it in your blender and add water. They can tell you all about it.

Go online to melaleuca.com. They have a whole line of natural bath products for adults and kids, among other things.
