it's a great online forum, and they have a TON of events to attend so that you can meet people in person if you'd like to.
Hello Everyone!!
My husband and I are moving to Cincinnati (probably suburbs in or around Mason). We are pregnant and looking for good suggestions for an OB and hospital for labor and delivery! Also, since I don't know anyone and this will be my 1st baby, I am also looking for Mom's groups in the area...any suggestions? Thank you so much A.

hi-
Good Sam is a great hospital - http://www.trihealth.com/whe/mat/mat_gsh.aspx?id=01.00.00....
Do NOT deliver at UC (feel free to e-mail me if you want to know why).
I LOVE my ob/gyn - her name is:
Gennari, Lisa MD - Associates in Womens Health

She is AWESOME, ALWAYS listens to me and is very caring. just a note i typically have to wait 20-30 minutes to see her but it is worth it (she never rushes me, always answers my questions and has great bedside manner)
hope your move goes well :)
Kurt Froehlich is great and delivers at Bethesda North...congrats, and welcome to the area!
Try Blue Cocoon for a mom's group.. They have everything.... From groups to Nursing bras...

HI! My family and I just moved to Cincinnati this past August.
I too am pregnant and LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Bowen. His information has already been given in another answer. He is located in Springdale. Easy to get to from 275. WELL worth any drive. He really is very supportive, very informative, and just wonderful. I can't say enough good things about him. I KNOW he will deliver at Mercy Fairfield and Bethesda North.
Since we just moved here, I really don't have any experience with the hospitals. We chose Bethesda North because we're having twins and they have a higher level NICU, just in case we need it. I've heard mixed reviews on Mercy Fairfield... particularly if you want to breastfeed. So... I don't know.
Bethesda is right off 275 as well, so really not difficult to get to. Honestly, it seems like if something isn't RIGHT down the street from you, just about everything is about a 30 minute drive once you hit 275.
As far as mommy groups.... I belong to a GREAT group.... www.cincinnatimommies.com We are part of The Mommy Network, which is a national organization.
It's free to join. We have tons of members. There is an online forum, but ALSO a calendar of events. Each month people schedule various play dates, outings, Moms Nights Out, Date Nights, etc... The women involved are really very supportive and nice. We have moms from ALL over the greater Cincinnati area, all the way from Mason to Northern Kentucky. The larger group is divided into "local regions". Check us out!
There are also local Le Leche Leagues in and around Cincinnati, if that is something you would be interested in.
Feel free to private message me if you would like some more information on the city etc....

There is a Mom's group in Mason - Mothers and More. They have a website but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head. Go ahead and google it and put Cincinnati chapter after the title "mothers and more".
mercy hospital fairfield is closeish to mason and has a Wonderful Birthing Center. large rooms, windows, great care. the in house OB team has an office across the parking lot. "Obstetrics and gynecology assoc"

the doctor who delievered by kids is a family friend i have known since i was 5. he is retiring in July. but I also had lots of visits an consultation with Dr. Narendran. She is fabulous. kind, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. they also have a certified Nurse Midwife if you would prefer that. i would strongly recommend them.
my sister in law had her babies at Bethesda North, and the labor delivery rooms were nice, but then for recovery they moved her into a tiny room that made it harder for family to visit. at Mercy I was in the same room from the moment i was checked in, until i left.
If you are comfortable with a man as a doctor i have many friends who have loved Dr. Bowen. http://www.danielbowenmd.com/
he delivers at both hospitals i mentioned.
good luck!
:)
I delivered all three of my kids at Bethesda North Hospital and had a great experience all three times. The nurses are really friendly.
I went to Associates in OB-GYN Inc. their website is www.associnobgyn.com. I went to the Cornell location. phone # ###-###-####. I saw a few of the physicians and midwives there (mostly the women but I didn't plan it that way!) and they were all friendly.
Really don't know of a mom's group though. Although I wish I did. I live in Lebanon, Ohio which isn't too far from Mason. Hey, if you are looking for a house for sale I have a great one in Lebanon!! (Just kidding!!) Good Luck with your first baby!! If you have any questions you can always ask me!! I will answer anything!! This website is also the greatest place to ask questions!
If you are wanting natural childbirth the only OB in the area that will be extremely supportive of you would be Dr. Danial Bowen http://www.danielbowenmd.com
He is very willing to help you with natural childbirth but is also willing/able to go the medical route also if that is needed or what you are looking for.
.... As far as moms groups.... Sorry I can't help you with that :-/
I am the co-leader of Cincinnati Mothers & More - http://www.mothersandmorecincinnati.com/ - which I see someone has suggested! Most of our members come from the northern suburbs - Mason, West Chester, Loveland, Maineville, Lebanon, though we do have moms from other parts of Cincinnati, too. We also have members with children ranging from newborn to junior high age. About 1/2 of our group is working moms (PT and FT) and the other half is stay at home moms. It's a great group - let me know if you would like more information and/or would like to visit one of our events.
I go to Crescent Women's Medical Group in Montgomery and really like them. Cindy Hansel is my doctor and they have midwives, too. I have delivered at Christ Hospital and Bethesda North. I had good experiences at both.
