Seeking Ob in Lincolnshire/Lake Forest Area

I have recently moved to the suburbs from the City and need to find a new Ob. I adore my Ob/Gyn, but he only delivers at Northwestern. I had a pretty fast delivery with my son, (yes, I thanked my lucky stars!) and my husband is worried that the second time around will be even faster. He doesn't want to risk rush hour traffic or snow for our next baby due in November. Does anyone know of great Ob/Gyn's in the area that I should talk to? Also, are there any I should avoid? And what are the best hopitals to deliver in the area. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Dr. David Schewitz of Lake Forest Obstetrics, 900 N. Westmoreland Road, Ste.228, Lake Forest is really, really good. I just had a baby on March 23rd that he delivered. I have been going to this practice for years with very good results. The other 2 doctors in the practice, Dr. Leslie Oshin and Dr. Rebecca Jacobson are also really good. They deliver out of Lake Forest Hospital which I also recommend. Good Luck!

Hi A.,

I go to Dr Susan Kramer & her associates (Dr Lee, Tyler, Buccelato & Smith)they are all very nice. I just joined them in December after switching from an OB of 15 yrs. All the docs in her practice are very nice. She delivers at Highland Park Hospital & has offices in the hospital itself & in Vernon Hills (off Milwaukee, south of Route 60, near the Kohls). Her office number is ###-###-####. HPH is a good hospital to deliver at - their rooms are all private & they use the same room for everything unless you have a c-section - they move you into a separate room for the surgery & then back again to a private room. Good luck to you!

Hi A.-

I had a great experience with the birth of my daughter at Rush North Shore in Skokie and used a nurse midwife there but all the Ob/GYN staff are supurb!

Birthways, Inc. is a great resource if you decide to go a more holistic route! They offer Doula services for Labor & Delivery as well as postpartum care at home.

Blessings!

I absolutely LOVE Dr Scott Logan at Westmoreland OB/Gyn in Lake Forest Hospital. ###-###-####
They also have an office in Graylake in the LF medical building.

All the doctors in the practice are great. He is just my favorite.

Good OBs at Lake Forest Hospital. Check w/your insurance but the group with Holden,Huang,Hubbell and Oh is excellent as is the group with Logan,Cohan,Colgrove (there's more). I know them all. If you like to go to a woman I would go to the group with Holden etc.... Lake Forest has a wonderful reputation, it doesn't look or smell (ew) like a hospital. Check out their website www.lfh.org and if you go there you should check into all the perinatal education classes they offer.

Hello. I was 6 months pregnant when we moved to IL from San Diego & I too...loved my previous OB-GYN, so was leary at finding a good place/DR. here. Not to mention, I'm a Labor & Delivery Nurse and VERY VERY picky with my Dr.'s. :) Anyway, I was referred (by the military...we are a military family) to The Westmoreland Group in Lake Forest. I was "assigned" Dr. Colegrove, however, they have 5 Dr.'s and you see all of them...that way they all "see" you since you never know who will be on call during your delivery. I ended up seeing Dr. Logan the most & he was the Dr. that happened to be on call when I went into labor. I liked him a lot...not as much as my previous OB-GYN, but she's hard to replace. :) The only negative I found with the office is the wait time for your appt. Sometimes I was there for 2 hrs. or more for a 3-5 min. visit...which I found very annoying, and yes, I did complain about it. Anyway, I delivered at Lake Forest Hospital...and it's a very clean hospital, one of the cleanest I've ever been in...and since I'm a nurse, I've seen a lot. Most of the Nursing Staff was great...with the exception of a few in the postpartum unit, but luckily I'm an experienced nurse/mom, so I knew what I needed and to ask. But all in all, a good experience and I would recommend the Westmoreland Group & Lake Forest Hospital.

Good Luck!
