I recently moved to the town of Cranford NJ and need to find an OB GYN in the area. While I would prefer a female doctor, I would consider a male if highly recommended. Any recommendations would be appreciated -- thank you!

I went to Dr. Lublin and Magaril for my son (and I had a very nerve-wracking pregnancy & delivered 3 months early). I have also heard terrific things about Dr. Kaye. My friend also had a preemie for her first one and switched to Dr. Kaye for her 2nd and said it was like night and day!

There is a wonderful ob/gyn. doctor named Laura Zimmerman at the Summit medical group in Westfield. She is great and mom to young ones.

Hi T.,

Although my doctor is awesome and I recommend him without reservation (Dr. Russell Hoffman in Summit delivering out of Overlook Hospital) you said you would be more comfortable with a female.

When I delivered my first son, Dr Kaye from Cranford was covering for Hoffman while he was away on vaca. They are a father/daughter practice and I saw both while I was in the hospital. I felt quite at ease and have many friends who use their services. Good luck!

I can not say enough great things about my dr - Dr Khanmohamadi "Dr. Khan" - she is young and down to earth. I feel like I cna talk to her about anything I would with my sister or best friend. Her office is right in Clark and delivers out of JKF in Edison. She was my dr for both of my pregnancies, well actually 3 pregnancies but I lost one. She did not ddeliver my first child since she was on vacation but she did with my 2nd and I would honestly have another baby knowing that she would be over seeing my pregnancy and birth. Also all the girls in her office are wonderful! Best of luck!

Hi T.!

I highly recommend Dr Kaye in Cranford on Union Avenue. They are a father daughter team and the daughter is great. I have not delivered a baby yet with her but I would definitely feel comfortable going to her. She is very down to earth and friendly.

Although I see a Certified Nurse Midwife (after three wonderful home births) for my well woman care, I also go to Dr Joan Leiser in Springfield. I have known her since she started out in practice 13 years ago.
Prior to accepting a physician I like to ask their position on these subjects...breast feeding, home birth and vaccination. Regardless of your point of view or your doctor's the answer is telling. Are they open to alternatives or do they have a dogmatic prospective full of condemning sentiment? Is the answer based on predjudial bias? Are they apathetic regarding breast feeding? Every Dr. should whole heartedly support breast feeding. Even if you don't want to. Even if you are not looking for an OB. It shows their level of care.
Thank you for the opportunity to speak my mind.
