Hi Moms,
I am looking for a great Nutritionist with lots of experience working with babies and toddlers. My son has food allergies and we're getting ready to start him on table foods so I want to invest in working with a good nutritionist. We would also like to meet a great homeopath for the baby to incorporate as many natural remedies as possible (for example, for skin eczema). We live in Oak Park and would love any recommendations for child nutritionists/ homeopaths within a reasonable distance. Thank you!

What can I do next?

I suggest seeking a registered dietitian who specializes in pediatrics and/or food allergies. You may search for an RD using the search tool on the American Dietetic Association website:
http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/home_4875...
If you have issues with this search, you may call the ADA for assistance at 800/877-1600, ext. 5000.

You may also search for a Board Certified as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP) from the following link:
http://www.cdrnet.org/applications/directory/Specialists/...

CSPs are RDs who specialize in pediatric nutrition.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

Hi T.,

I am seeing a nutritionist/chiropractor/acupuncturist in Highland Park. It's a fair jaunt for me from Elk Grove Village, but VERY worth it. He does a special kind of muscle testing that is more specific and exact than any I've ever received before, and always is right on target. He can/does also see and treat babies/children - I had made a point of checking into that because I have a 1 year old that had been seeing a nutrionist when we lived in Florida. The doctor's name is Timothy Voll - his number is ###-###-####. I can't speak highly enough of him - this technique has honestly saved my life more than once. (I have rheumatoid arthritis and a lot of the attendant immune challenges - and I'm only 29).

T., I don't have a suggestion for a practitioner, but are you familiar with the Foodlab Yahoo group? It's full of (mostly) moms who are dealing with restricted diets in their families. There's a lot of allergy, and health issues discussed and a lot of recipes on file.
