Hey everyone: I'm moving from NC to Kennesaw in a couple months and am looking for a great family-oriented neighborhood (with a pool, playground and lots of new friends for my 4 year and 3 year old). Any suggestions?

There are many great neighborhoods in Kennesaw but they vary greatly depending on price. The Bentwater neighborhood and Seven Hills neighborhoods that I have seen recommended are gfreat neighborhoods but they are NOT in Kennesaw. They are quite a bit further out. One factor you might want to consider is the school district. Much as I hate to say it and don't want to stir up controversy, the Georgia Public School system is among the worst in the country (it is in the bottom ten if not the bottom five. I would recommend private school but that largely depends on your budget. Either way, where you are in relation to your kids school makes a huge difference. Legacy Park and Brookstone are two great subdivisions that are IN Kennesaw. If you are willing to go out a ways, the other neighborhoods mentioned are great as well as Bridgemill in Canton. Of all of them, I would really recommend my neighborhood. It has the BEST pool of all, it is across from a great private school and in close proximity to the public schools and it was actually voted by Cobb Magazine the "Best New Subdivision" in ALL of Cobb County. It is also close to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. It is called "The Overlook at Marietta Country Club" but it is also the priciest of all of them. There might be one or two in the high $500 range but most are in the $700-$900 and up range. You are buying at a great time because home prices are down drastically. In addition to the great neighborhoods listed which are very large neighborhoods offering something for everyone, there are many other smaller subdivisions that offer great amenities as well. Good luck in your search--regardless of your neighborhood, Kennesaw is a great area in which to live.

It is a little further out than Kennesaw, but Seven Hills which is in Dallas, but still close to Kennesaw. Has WONDERFUL amenities and there is always a bunch of activities at the club house for kids. The pool is fantastic. check out the website. www.sevenhills-atlanta.com

Check out Legacy Park in Kennesaw off Jiles Road. Very family-friendly, lots of amenities, and a wide range of home prices. I know lots of people who live there and really like it.

I also recommend Bentwater Subdivision! There is always something going on and the 5 pools all have playgrounds near them. IMO you can't go wrong!

I live in the Blackwell Bend subdivision off Blackwell Road in Marietta (really not far at all from Kennesaw and very convenient to I-575/I-75). We feel like we live in the deep woods because we seriously do not hear a lot of traffic from Canton Road (Highway 5). We have a pool and the association fees are optional. Older community and the houses are great!
