B.Z.
Hi K.
I belong to a group of parents in the NW suburbs called Parents who care (www.parentswhocare.org). We have a monthly bookclub, a parents night out, and a hobby night, so parents can get out and meet new friends. I've haven't even been a member a year and I see people all the time that I've met at different events.
And it's not just parent events, there are lots of kid events planned monthly too. We've gone to Pirates Cove, Pump it up, The little village (I think was the name in Ah by the train station), a pumpkin patch, and quite a few other places. We hold a weekly open gym in the winter which is open to non-members to meet other parents and let the kids blow off some steam. (see info here: http://www.parentswhocare.org/opengym.html)
It's quite an affordable organization ($25 for the year)and it provides a wealth of activities for kids and parents alike. The membership fees are more than made up for in discounts on activities throughout the year.
My name is B. and while I wouldn't see you at open gym because of my older daughters class schedule, we are always at kids club and a lot of the outings.
